Crossing their beaks like small swords these Redshanks start dueling who is the best in throwing around the most water droplets, and getting wet as soon as possible.

If you notice, one of these guys is gripping the leg of the other butterfly.
They come down from the north in some winters and hang around in the brush around the bird feeders. Redpolls aren't skittish, and you can get quite close to them. I used my Pentax K-3 II to make this image back in 2018.

String bending is a basic guitar technique, used a lot in blues and rock...especially Southern Rock. The idea is to "bend" (push a string across or over the fingerboard with your left hand fingers) so that the string gets tighter and the pitch goes up.
