When I moved to SW Missouri in January 2008 I was advised to spend as much time along the KCS as the SD40-2 era was coming to an end. I was a good listener and had many productive days along the Haywire. Just north of Carl Junction, I found this four pack of dueces hauling a ballast train. These four were some of the SD40-2's shared with CN but with KCS paint. I seem to remember they spent 6 months on CN and 6 months on KCS but my memory may be as foggy as that morning at Carl Junction.

66797 rounds the corner from Sheet Stores Junction and is blinded by the low setting sun at Gateway Junction West.
She is working the Toton to Bescot engineers and sparkles like she is fresh out of the box in mint condition.
The line to the right leads to East Midlands Gateway Container Terminal.
The title is a line from Manfred Manns Blinded By The Light which was penned by Bruce Springsteen. The songs lyrics are bizarre and have very little meaning to me but that does not detract from the songs enormous popularity.

Sadley Duece days in Victoria B.C is no longer to be. a car weekend that brought over 1400 hotrods and vintage cars from all over the world is now a thing of the past. the event was so large it only happened every 3 years. definatly one of the premier carshows of the northwest.

With the Mrs. working a super late shift the night before, I figured to be a good husband and take the kids out in the morning to allow here to sleep in. Both kiddos managed to get up and in the car by 0615 (bribed with chocolate milk and donuts of course!). We headed directly downtown and quickly found the UP yard job YSL53 taking head room north of Lesparence St Yard. YSL53 was building the normal morning transfer between Lesparence St and 12th St yards in St. Louis.
