Champion du monde Moto3 en 2018.
En 2024, le pilote de l'équipe Pramac Racing fait partie des grands favoris à la couronne, et il va parfaitement assumer ce statut. Au guidon de sa Ducati privée, vainqueur de trois Grands Prix et sept Tissot Sprint, il décroche le titre lors de la dernière manche de la saison, exceptionnellement délocalisé à Barcelone. L'usine Ducati ayant préféré Marc Márquez au « Martinator » pour un guidon dans le team officiel plus tôt dans la saison, le Champion du Monde 2024 défendra son titre sur une Aprilia officielle en 2025.
