Burj Khalifa (Arabic: برج خليفة, "Khalifa Tower", pronounced English /ˈbɜrdʒ kəˈliːfə/), known as Burj Dubai prior to its inauguration, is a skyscraper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is the tallest man-made structure in the world, at 829.8 m (2,722 ft).[3][8]
Construction began on 21 September 2004, with the exterior of the structure completed on 1 October 2009. The building officially opened on 4 January 2010,[1][9] and is part of the new 2 km2 (490-acre) development called Downtown Dubai at the 'First Interchange' along Sheikh Zayed Road, near Dubai's main business district.
the infamous Palm Island...another one is being built as well...
hazy weather....best I could get after processing...
Epic fog in Dubai this morning. And I was lucky to be in this unplanned location, just because I was invited for dinner in a residence on the top floor (77th floor).

Of course we were on our trip to Dubai for a day in the desert. There we had some adventures. We are stuck in the sand with the car, we were taken in by a storm, including sandstorm caught and my tripod was so bogged down that I was there for 3 hours had to take it apart and cleaned up.
But it was worth it :-)

Dubai Marina (Arabic: مرسى دبي) is a district in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Dubai Marina is an artificial canal city, built along a two mile (3 km) stretch of Persian Gulf shoreline.[2] When the entire development is complete, it will accommodate more than 120,000 people in residential towers and villas.[3] It is located on Interchange 5 between Jebel Ali Port and the area which hosts Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, and the American University in Dubai. The first phase of this project has been completed. Dubai Marina was inspired by the Concord Pacific Place development along False Creek in Vancouver, BC, Canada.[4] Dubai Marina is also one of the few places in Dubai where people from Western Europe form a majority.
This was taken on my last day in Dubai. It was a beautiful Sunset at the Jumeirah Beach, i was waiting for the Burj Al Arab to get illuminated with colors, but that did not happen and I had to go because my flight back home was only a few hours away.
Hope you had a wonderful holiday and a great week ahead.
As always, thanks for stopping by and looking. I appreciate your comments and visits.

This Harris Hawk was flown at our hotel to keep away the pesky Crows that tried to pinch your breakfast. I am not so sure that I entirely agree with hunting with Birds but I understand that it is very popular in Dubai. This particular bird was allowed to fly around the grounds of the Hotel and would give you a fright when it used your balcony as a perch. The handler informed us that the bird had been breed and trained in Derbyshire England not far from where I live.
