After restoration - entrance portico for Giles Baths at Coogee, in Sydney's Eastern suburbs. The rest of the Giles Baths building that once housed popular hot sea baths has been demolished for safety reasons. From this portico, a path leads down to the ever popular Giles Baths rock pool at the foot of the cliff. (My ref: DS90/Sept2005)

An inner wall of this portico now holds plaques with the names and images of local people (including members of the Coogee Dolphins A Grade Rugby League team), who died in Indonesia when a nightclub in Bali was bombed on 12 October 2002. The headland is now known as Dolphin Point in honour of the footballers killed in the bombing and hosts a number of other memorials including a sculpture which commemorates the loss of life in the Bali bombings.

I cut down an oak tree that had been damaged in the heavy snow earlier this month; the trunk had snapped badly, it was leaning towards the fence, so there was no hope for it.

So with one chainsaw, one tree turned into these ten logs, which after a year of drying out, shall be warming me in the wood stoive next winter.

My favorite time to walk is at night. I love the colors of the night and the peacefulness.

Four snow removal objects, or three shovels and one broom. The basketball is an entertainment device so the kids will let me use the shovels :).

Looking from the Giles Baths at Coogee, NSW to Coogee Beach, in Sydney's Eastern suburbs. There are some memorable nineteenth century photographs that show similar views of this rockpool. (My ref: DS90/Sept2005)

Randwick City Council's naming sign and safety warnings for Giles Baths at Coogee, in Sydney's Eastern suburbs. The baths are a rock pool at the foot of Coogee Bay's northern headland. This ocean pool on Coogee Bay has been a popular bathing place since the1870s when there were no warning signs. A fine new set of stairs now leads down to the pool. (My ref: DS90/Sept2005)

Sign seems appropriate as Coogee's Giles baths were only for men until the the late 20th century. These are the toilet facilities nearest to the Giles Baths at Coogee, in Sydney's Eastern suburbs. The Giles Baths portico in the background and the rock pool at the bottom of the cliff are all that remains of the Giles Baths complex. (My ref: DS90/Sept 2005)

Shooting towards the window did not make for the best exposure today. However, I wanted to capture the feel that I'm in an airport. This is the absolute lightest I have ever traveled. I have to change planes twice on my trip from upstate NY to Phoenix and I didn't want to worry about my luggage not making all the connections. I also wanted to avoid the bag fees and by the looks of it everyone else is trying to avoid that as well.

I think my camera equipment and laptop take up more room than my clothes. Priorities!

I went to the zoo today, and this was taken through the glass. The tigers look so soft I just want to reach out and touch their fur.

Over the past few months, I've been reading some foodie blogs - and whenever I see simple cupcakes as these, I always think "I can do that."

So today, I did.
