Snack time at baseball games is always fun. At the Yankees game on Tuesday 5/24 we had beautiful weather and I had delicious Nathan's cheese fries and a corndog. Yum.
1/1000 sec at ƒ / 2.8, ISO 100, 35mm (AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G, Nikon D7000)
Read about the Gizmodo 1/1000 shutter speed photography challenge, thought I should give it a shot. Water is always cool when captured in the act of explosion, a lemon slice is yellow. We have win. Took many a photo, forgot to take a prepshot. Plate of water, swivel head lamp lighting from the side, drop, drop, drop. I like this one.

I suddenly knew why that horse needed a fence! Maybe the alternative is more yellow but I like this one most for the mad horse look.

I have walked the boardwalk in Collingwood's Harbourview Park many times and today is the first time I've seen this sign in the wetlands. Closer inspection revealed that it is a snowmobile trail marker. There is no snowmobile trail in this park. Somebody thought it was funny enough to go to the trouble of stealing the sign and placing it here for the benefit of the waterfowl, muskrats etc. Sigh... If only that kind of energy could be harnessed for the upkeep of the parks.
I think this qualifies for Trash Talk Tuesdays as this sign is now refuse.

My new 5 metre long flash sync cord. Unfortunately, the plug is the wrong size, so until I get an adapter for it I'm stuck with the teensy weensy tiny cord that came with the flash. Didn't realise my lens was so dirty! I quite like the blue dot effect it made in this shot though!

Well, they say a picture speaks a thousand words; mine says just two! I really need some inspiration! I have 75 days to go so I don't want the whole last part of my project to be full of crap shots! Must try harder!

...What is business success worth, if you’re not happy? - I have seen successful business people break down crying over the realization that they have wasted large parts of their lives chasing money, fame and success - while never being happy themselves. It makes zero sense to sacrifice your happiness at work for success. It’s just not worth it...

I typically use the right hand lane. It calls for a slightly less radical angle of approach in an already cramped parking lot. As for the time, I typically go at lunch time, selecting some rabbit food. Er, salad.

apologies for the grainy nature of this indoor, no-flash shot. was just playing around waiting for an app't yesterday and evidently channeling the DS for today.
Tie Dye Towel
The interesting thing about this towel is that it's dyed with natural colors. The reddish color is actually crushed strawberries. The yellow is turmeric soaked in water. To do something like this, you need to first soak the cloth in vinegar (which reeks unto itself). Then you dip it in your dyes (which also reek in their own way). You can also do this with spinach, red cabbage, and onions.
