Though I went seeking solace and softness in the swamp water reflections, the red feather tufts of the muhly grass seemed to 'fit the bill'! The backlit shots are definitely appealing, but the blur of the gentle breeze and side-lit action seemed more appropriate for the assignment. Freedom Park, Naples, FL

A quick shot today. This is a covered bowl that was my grandmother's and now my mom's. It's huge! I believe it was used for bread dough? I can't remember anything bout its age or origin (I'm supposed to remember these things!) but I bet my mom jumps in and tells me!

Aha! It's from about 1830. Thanks, mom!

ok, so it's not a "scene" and i'm pretty sure it's not actually even low contrast but it does mellow me out. and, of course, i'd go with a blue set of tones >ggg<......... and it so reminds me of waves at the ocean

Great White North? Not yet! Winter is arriving gently this year, with little reminders that anything left in the yard will soon be buried. This skiff of snow will have melted by the weekend, and yes, I'll take the hint, and do the final yard cleanup.

found these - Crow certainly knows their name :-) - in a very urban place. I shot lots of them - in front of a house, against the sky and so on. I chose this one with its earthy tones growing near the ground.

These are some slippers that I made for Elise. They are almost complete. All the stitching is done; just have to felt them and then use puffy paint on the soles for a nonslip grip.

I just used P(rogram) mode on the camera and swung the exposure to -2.0 to get the low contrast and softness. Usually I try to shoot in Manual for dailyshoot but I have been out of the loop for awhile.

I had a hard time arranging the slippers in a composition that I liked.

Non ?

Morning light on the wall in my living room stuck me as a nice mellow scene. The contrast isn't too low, but the transition from shadow to light is interesting.

I spotted this puffy cloud overhead this afternoon and couldn't believe how much it looked like a little cat with its tail curled up. The photo is SOOC, no adjustments to either color or contrast. I took the photo for the Clouds365 website, but then realized that it fits today's Daily Shoot assignment nicely, too. ;-)

I generally like high-contrast in my pictures. Today I walked around my yard in the late afternoon trying to find something "soft". This was the best of what I took this afternoon. I was trying for a slightly blown-out soft picture. Not sure I quite got that, but I do like the end result.
