And Althought I took the shot I take no credit for the cool bit of Origami with a dollar note to make it look like a shirt and heres why.
I tried a few options today scrunching up paper and trying to catch a shot of it through the air to a bin, Failed
Tried useing the strobe flash to capture it in different instances in the air - Failed
Made a paper plane and took shots of it - boring hence fail
then a colleague of mine said he could make a shirt like bit of origami with a dollar note so thats what I used for todays shot

It's time to decorate window boxes with heather for the winter. Old newspapers are commonly used to wrap flowers and plants - especially essential, in thick layers, in winter to protect delicate plants from the cold.

I used to make these all the time. The model is the Full Rigged Ship by Patricia Crawford from "Origami Step by Step" by Robert Harbin. The model is folded from a 2" (5cm) square of foil-backed paper, and the final model is 7/8" long and 3/4" high (2.2 cm x 2 cm). I was going to make a new one for this DailyShoot, but when I opened my box of tiny origami paper I found one already done, and another in progress, so I used the finished one.

Yes, my green screen is made out of crêpe paper because I didn't want to buy a real cotton green screen.

I wanted to go minimal... Negative space, contrasting colors, diagonal lines (?), etc. all courtesy of the Daily Shoot.
Strobist info: SB800 zoomed to 105mm camera right, bare; SB900 zoomed to 200mm camera left bounced off the wall. Both flashes 1/128th power, triggered by the built-in camera flash acting as a commander.
Postprocessing: crop to 16:9 (this cropping was planned since the beginning of the shoot).

I'm not sure what it's supposed to be -- perhaps an origami lantern? -- but we called them water bombs. Truth be told, they didn't hold water very well, if you were even successful at filling them through the small hole at one end.

PS. 95% building the darn paper crane, 5% lighting and shooting. Only a little color adjust and white lens vignetting on post processing.

This is my first take on origami... actually bought an origami book in a Muji store i Paris a few years back - today it payed off =)
Shot with a 100mm Macro in an intermistic setup with a big piece of white cardboard to create the "scene". Cropped and further adjusted in Lightroom

Does Sir John A. MacDonald look a bit happier than usual in the photo above? He should! It's the Happy/Sad Face Illusion -- viewed from the "happy" angle.
While the illusion will work with almost any non-profile picture of a face, the ready availability (and bendability) of money make it ideal. Try it with your favourite denomination!
In paper folding terminology, bend with a mountain-fold on each of the eyes, and a valley-fold in-between. Then tip the bill top towards you (shifting from happy to sad) or away from you (from sad to happy). A short, video demonstration is available.
Given that so many of our transactions these days are electronic, I rarely pass along a paper bill without sharing the "happy sad face illusion."

We made some paper bag animals last weekend and the kids played with them, hard. I found "Mister Green Skunk" underneath a pile of shoes. I'm not sure he'll ever be the same.
