Todays assignment on dailyshoot.com was "Use a door or window as a framing device to contain a smaller scene today. "
Funnily enough in a city with indows and doors everywhere I struggled to get a shot I liked today, but when I saw this one I thought it had potential and was kind of cool, as the woman is in the window of a restaurant, and the guy was on the street just near to where i took this
I tried for a more painterly feel to processing this but not sure I achieved it
thoughts and suggestions as always appreciated

El reto 303 de @dailyshoot fue captar una escena a través de una puerta o ventana.
Challenge number 303 from @dailyshoot was to capture a scene through a door or a window.

Our school is getting a shiny new gym, plus new offices and an additional classroom. The construction is, shockingly (*snicker) a bit behind schedule. This is the view of the school yard from a classroom window. I had to do some heavy duty tone mapping to get this shot and still wasn't happy with it, so I played with some effects in Lightroom. I kind of like this postcard look.

Not much of a scene in the windows, but there is at least something going on through them.

Took a trip up to Northern State Hospital after work today to get a few shots for today's assignment. I had a hard time deciding which to use...thoughts?

It's time to go.
To Idaho.
Is that a small scene, or is it my suitcase?
Idaho, ho!

Saved by nature (and some man-made lights)! Had no idea what to shoot for today's assignment, then I tried taking a photo through a window into the night and got all these nice colours back. I exaggerated the colours slightly in the post processing, but only slightly (they where all there).

PS: I had to improvise at home. Felt like playing with a led flash bulb, and the strobe during a 30 sec long exposure. On post production I had to lighten a little the dark areas and adjust the luminance to get rid of the anoying noise.

Our current office space is being merged with the adjacent space. Part of the renovations involve knocking a hole in a board room wall, hence Break on Through (to the other side).

I'm wondering why I don't get too excited by the recent assignments... Perhaps it's due to the fact that I can't get hold of any humans who will model for me (unless I use ropes or other torture devices)...
So, this use of a window as a frame is pretty one-sided :) But there is one detail in the scene that just captivated me enough to decide to post this shot.

For the second leg of our trip to visit schools in northern Alberta, we climbed into the back of vans that bounced through ruts and pot holes, and slid through deep mud. I am totally amazed that this shot is straight and reasonably focused!

I've been so lazy this summer, didn't travel far, this is thru my living room window onto my deck...my favorite spot in the evenings when things cool down here in Indy Y'all.

I took this from the driver's side window today. Only a little of the door frame is visible in the top right corner. I did stop the car for this shot. :-)

In a few more weeks we'll be able to watch the games from the kitchen window.
I just ran out of time to do anything interesting today. I played with the saturation and white balance a little with this one, but overall it's not very inspired.
