Using a little technology today to make for some fun photo shooting. Started by uploading this one to Flickr, then reshot to get this final result.

I fretted about this assignment all day. First, didn't we just do this? Second, I had no idea. My child is uncooperative about being the model, but I did a bit of pleading (and maybe some bribery) because I needed him to do it twice - once for the shot to print, and once for the actual dailyshoot shot. Then I realized I couldn't print the photo large enough for it to be the actual size of his head. I thought I'd have him hold the frame out far enough to use perspective to give the illusion of the correct size. But he's a natural ham, and he started peeking around the frame making faces. I went with it. I thought the over the top PP worked with the over the top hammy child.

I'm getting ready for this weekend's Peak to Shore Music and Art Fest. It promises to be a great weekend of free concerts and art displays! I have a display booth where I'll be showing some of my favourite photo art. This is one of my pieces in the setting that inspired the shot. You've seen the photo before - it's a macro shot of my Colorado blue spruce. I've enlarged it and printed it on canvas. The texture works really well. there was a confluence of factors yesterday: the feathers were out for *pink* awareness and my daughter came by, noticed this picture of her gramme and wanted a scanned copy. took this pic instead. ......now if i can remember how to get the scanner to work.
this picture was taken on easter of '08. my creative sister had made my mom the hat since mom was the grande dame of the family. so she sported it with pride and panache.

I'm reaching for the meta today- being here in the UK means we get the assignments later in the day, so you have to hope you grabbed something earlier that works.
This is an exhibit at the Museum of London that uses projected images and photos in an interesting way- they were arranged in an upward fan shape over an old printing press, and the content was programmed to fly up and away over the screens, like paper being ejected into the world.
Hint: Fox News has called this person "poison for the minds of our kids."

This one is from the biggest 'horreo' (Granary) in Galicia. Luckily I got the poster from the tourist information office before visiting the place.

Today's shot of a photo of a photo. This is from the Harley 95th Anniversary. While we did have one of the first digital cameras at this time that the batteries lasted for about 4 pics - this photo was taken with more of pocket camera that used real film. It allowed regular prints as well as wide angle. This was a great week and totally awesome. Now have trouble remembering that this was an experience. Kinda like my thesis and some paintings- did I really do that?

This photo is of my grandparents, taken at my parents' wedding in 1974. In real life it's deliciously yellowy vintage so I overexposed with the speedlight and did a little post-editing in an attempt to make it look like it was taken in 1920 instead. The things you do at 11:38pm.

This is part of the motel at Moclips in WA state on the ocean. A throwback - but a place right on the water and dunes a quarter of a mile downshore of the Native American reservation and protected land. A great outdoor experience and great place to be. As for the accommodations - they are a better memory than a reality - truly rustic. You go there for the environment- not the amenities.
The orange color was unique and part of the charm. A new owner has painted a Cape Cod blue - just not the same. Sometimes memories are the best - you can't always recreate and sometimes replication is not what is needed.
Seems we should also thing of this in other parts of life.
Live the moment - go forward.
