This girl caught my eye because it was triying tricky ways - never the "usual" ones to get on, up, under all the playground equipments - here there was no way through.
I had a good time taking photographs on the playground (never been there since my kids are grown up).

The conservation area at McCaulay Mountain is home to Birdhouse City, which features over 100 birdhouses, each one unique and sitting atop a numbered pole. Birdhouse City was the project of Doug Harnes, former superintendent with the conservation authority.
While some of the birdhouses are currently removed for repair or replacement,
a visit to the park makes for an interesting pastime on summer afternoons.

This is the new roller coaster at Kennywood Park in PA. Long line but kids said it was worth the wait. I don't ride roller coasters, never acquired the passion or nerve for this type of ride.

This jungle gym is nice to climb around. Not a nice day though to go to a park or playground today, raining too much.

It was rather warm today and no water feature at this park's playground, so very few children around. The construction of this park was a community effort (the pickets in the background named for donors) and it looks like it is in need of some maintenance! I've admired the front view of this "Jeep" many times from walks on the perimeter, but not ventured on the inside since weeks of hammering years ago. Cambier Park playground, Naples, FL

No problems here! I just went down to the local playground, and for some reason it was all empty. Strange!
I wanted to get both the empty playground and the reason for it's emptiness into the photo, and as rain is hard to get on film without a puddle this slightly boring angle was what I ended up with.
At least I know that my home made rain cower works, lucky me. My favourite kind of rain-pictures are however high contrast black-and-white of people in an urban environment, preferably larger squares. Had no time to get to a place where I could find that today sadly.

If you've visited my photostream before, you'll know that Collingwood boasts beautiful parks and trails that I explore daily. Millenium Park is off-limits for quiet contemplation this weekend as Collingwood hosts 10,000+ young people for Wakefest 2010. Billed as "three days of boarding, bands, bikinis and epic parties", this is a major stop on the World Tour.

PS: Didn't have too much time, so I went to a nearby kids playground, and while taking pictures from different angles from one of the attractions, I heard a biker coming while I had these hoops in the viewfinder and was looking for a suitable composition. After taking this one with the out of focus biker on the back ground and the same without it, I kept this one.

I wanted the kids to try light painting at night so we went to the park after dark with some flashlights and balloons to add color.

Jellyfish hanging in the trees. We had a wedding to attend on Saturday, and then I drove from Massachusetts to Northern Ontario where I am staying at a cottage with only dialup internet. It's been tricksy to upload!

We went to Fort Edmonton Park today. This trip had been planned for weeks and it was just happy coincidence it worked so well with the daily shoot assignment :)
My daughter, who is twelve, kept calling this horse 'Pretty Pony' because she's a dork. Hence the title of the portrait :)

Tonight Claire and I went to the D-Backs game at Chase Field. About 2-3x a year we get out here and it's mostly for field trips and such through the high school. Tonight it was for a fundraiser.

I had enough green so I made it bw, cropped it a little and reduced the dynamic range to get more contrast.

The weather is still gloomy and wet in my part of the world, luckily my local park is only a 2 minute walk away so I was able to get over there between showers! Shame the only thing that caught my eye was this texture on a felled tree trunk (a wide shot would reveal it's commonly used as a teenage gathering point, but close up the texture and colours are rather interesting I think?)
