Bumbling Along
While enjoying the openings of the gorgeous lilies, I spotted this little buzzer floating around the gloriosa daisies. Now, normally, I am petrified of bees, but I had to go for it. I was about an inch away and fired off maybe 6 shots as my little winged friend hopped around this flower. As soon as it lifted for flight, I bolted.

I'm not happy with the background but I like the different angle of this shot. If nobody beat me to it today I'll be eating the first pea tomorrow.

Seems to me that no one reads the NO anymore.

I found this little guy swimming laps in my pool this morning. He must have been there a while because he rested perfectly still after I scooped him out. I had time to put my macro lens on my camera and get a bean bag to support it on the ground. He's recovered now and gone off to explore the rest of the yard on this beautiful first day of summer!

Maby I got a bit too close but wth, it's macro monday after all. Shot with my old sigma 70-300 that gives me 1:2 macro, my 4:th (i belive) photo in my 365 not shot with a fixed lens.

Homemade pepperoni pizza on wheat crust before baking (don't worry, there will be an after shot too :P)
I feel like a lot of the pictures I take are generally tight, direct, and to the point so this Daily Shoot assignment really wasn't all that difficult. I guess I could've ventured outside of a food shot but it is me, and I love my food.

Repotted six of these this weekend...divided them and cleaned up the roots. Wow, that was a lot of work. They are recovering and doing well in their pots, in the shade and through the many thunderstorms we have had daily / nightly! When they get good and healthy, they will return for their winter home, in the school library!

PS. Don't quite understood today's assignment, so I chose to do a 'close/tight' shot of something. Since it's been quite hot these past two days, I decided on taking a shot of the last four ice cubes I had left on the freezer. Time to get a couple of bags for next weekend.
Postprocessed into black and white to give a more dramatic look.

It's so grey and cold here in Seattle for the first day of summer, I've consumed way too much coffee getting through it.

Been following for 30 years! YIKES!! Most of the tour is in Europe this year - will need to wait until he comes to the midwest again. There was another one in 2009 - but don't have the stubs from that one.
Don't make assumptions - my taste in music is wide and diverse. :-)

Sorry that Maggie is my subject again today but taking care of a puppy is very time consuming .... I didn't have much time for pictures today, we are still getting use to each other ... oh and I love her to bits!!!
#ds218 Leave something out today. Be visually brief. Shoot tight. Make a photo that's direct and to the point. Picked this one as it went tight on the name even though the other shot I took was more appealing to me. www.flickr.com/photos/konarheim/4722442557/in/photostream/
