This interesting car is called 'Twinny' because it has two engines - one for the front wheels and one for the back ...

My selection of images from this year's Concours Of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace. My sixth in a row and the fourth that I've had the pleasure of attending with my dad.
It was one of the trickiest years to get the kind of photographs I'm usually after as it was really heaving with people all day!
But the selection of cars on display is always incredible, and this year's event didn't disappoint ...
Copper spent the night at the dog kennel since we were out of town. This is her expresion of happiness at being back home this morning.

How could you, dear viewer, not be happy with fresh snow? Especially when this rock has somehow manufactured a heart shaped pattern ( the second one I found today).
Are hearts really that ordinary? Do I just see them everywhere? And I see more patterns here...
<3 Snow!
Today's Daily Shoot assignment: make a photograph showing happiness.
Our little girl is pretty happy in general, but she was especially excited about mommy's keys.

Feeling under the weather stinks.
But it can also have its perks.
Yesterday, Sophie had an enduring headache and a nauseous tummy. Without becoming too graphic, that which was once securely contained in her belly found a way to come back up on more than one occasion.
That's the bad part of feeling rotten.
The good part is that you get special attention. Like when Mommy runs a hot bath in the big tub and infuses the turbulent water with wonderful smelling oils. It doesn't exactly make feeling sick worthwhile, but it doesn't hurt.
Through it all - the yuckiness and the soothing bath - Sophie has been a trooper. She's a sweet little girl with a quick smile and a clever sense of humor.
And, at least for the moment, she smells quite lovely as well.

These cheery gerbera daisies make me feel happy!
After the Big Game, we went out for a walk in the 13°C sunshine, in several ways a golden afternoon. Main Street was full of cars honking, flags waving, people howling.
This group were celebrating the best imaginable way, with high-energy street hockey.

In the golden fading light of the Winter Olympics 2010, you have to smile at the successes for the athletes, their sports, and countries all around the world. Especially, Canada is to be commended on a job well done.
This guy may be headed to the Winter Olympics 2014 in Russia! Is that what he is thinking? A gold medal for you, sir!

It was a great game. Tension across the country and across the world -- from Vancouver Hockey Place to Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, from Gretzky's in Toronto to Canadians overseas in Kandahar -- everyone watched and waited for the game to end, and for Canada to take the Gold medal. And take the medal they did.
And now all of Canada is happy. Happy to compete, happy to share, happy to host the world.

What could say happiness better than fireworks?!
I'm going back and picking up some old dailyshoot assignments. In the spirit of dailyshoot, I will be doing the ones I missed in reverse order, so I'll still be seeking out each theme rather than just posting a photo because it fit. Obviously, the Christmas/Holiday assignments might have to be skipped for now!
Today was a beautiful day - bright sunshine, warming temperatures, sweatshirt weather! Snow has melted, and it was a perfect day for sunning while sitting on the front porch swing. Our 11 year old cat took full advantage of this beautiful day. I think it's fair to say he was very, very happy.

A happy dog resting after a good game of chase-the-ball.
Many of us took pictures of our pets today to illustrate happiness. Pets do bring a lot of joy to our lives, don't they?

They were under 40+ inches of snow for a couple of weeks, which they survived undamaged. Is this about happiness, optimism, or perseverance? Perhaps all three.
