Its been awhile since I posted Gray Squirrel, this one had better technique of getting the dry fruit.

Happy Furry Friday!

I just took this photo from the kitchen,

Grey and black squirrels take their turn eating their dessert,

Dry cranberries are very sweet,

I know it is full on this photo but in 2 days it was all gone,

They always pose for me for few shots, it must be thank you:-)

Tomorrow Strawberries and Bananas on the menu,

Have a lovely week ahead everyone!

For dry fruits lovers.

Still life come together with love in this lovely plate. Creative light makes this dark image interesting.

This is a red winged blackbird I saw today on Whitefish Island. These guys are so hard to get close to, they have a very unique sounding song.

Taken with SonyA7R4 and I los have one more taken with Canon 6Dmarkii . Which looks better comment below

Homemade dry fruit Chikki

Chikki is a traditional Indian sweet (brittle) generally made from nuts and jaggery/sugar. There are several different varieties of chikki in addition to the most common groundnut (peanut) chikki.

Persimmons are the edible fruit of a number of species of trees in the genus Diospyros.

The word Diospyros comes from the ancient Greek words "Dios" and "pyros". In context this means more or less "divine fruit", though its literal meaning is more like "Wheat of Zeus". It is however sufficiently confusing to have given rise to some curious interpretations such as "God's pear" and "Jove's fire"... The word persimmon itself is derived from putchamin, pasiminan, or pessamin, from Powhatan, an Algonquian language of the eastern United States, meaning "a dry fruit".

October herald a new season of baking...

It's time to start planning for the festive season ahead.

Have to get soaking those dry fruits for fruit cake in the choicest ambrosial liquids.

As you start taking them out of jars, one wonders, is it the turning golden light or the way nature is meant to be , these dry fruits reflect the hues of Fall.

Chikki contains Jaggery, Almonds, Walnut and Groundnut
