DRUNK TANK PINK (n) : A bubblegum-pink color; in the early 1980s, psychologists daubed jail cells with drunk tank pink paint and discovered that the color calmed aggressive prisoners. Soon, enterprising football coaches began painting their visitors’ locker rooms with the same shade, hoping to pacify their opponents. Buses painted their seats pink and discovered that vandalism rates declined; door-to-door charity workers wore pink shirts and their donations rose threefold.

a little drunk
We had just been out with one of the groomsman and his date at a party. We had just dropped his date off and we had stopped by our place for another drink when the old polaroid came out. He was teasing her about trying to act like a bad girl, getting plastered then smoking, when she was actually was such a a goody-two-shoes.
First group photo lesson/workshop of 2010 is to capture the first sunrise of the year in Tokyo, from a similar spot on the Bay as this shot last year was taken from.

Myself and one of my friends/photography students met up at 5am in Shimbashi today and headed down to the Takeshiba Pier to photograph the first sunrise of 2009. Not knowing exacctly where on the skyline the sun was going to appear, we may not have had - in hindsight - the best spot. But, we had a good spot nonetheless and an interesting background of some triangular shaped building and the Marine Survey vessels across the bay.
The only fly in the ointment was a drunk Japanese guy who turned up at exactly the moment the sun appeared, stripped to his underpants, jumped the railings to where I was set up, stood himself right in front of my camera and proceeded to shout about how stupid foreigners were in general and especially for sitting here with our cameras for hours to catch the sunrise.
Justin managed to pacify the guy but it meant he lost a lot of shooting time, more than me. But I was thankful for Justin's intervention as, especially when the guy started touching my camera I threatened to push him into the bay. I was set up two feet from the edge of the pier and given his totally random behaviour I was worried he would pitch me and/or my equipment into the water.
This is the first of a number of shots I made this morning. But, for now, I am off to have a rest and get some breakfast inside me!

Since it was his birthday I guess she was going to prove him wrong. It was exciting to watch her strut her stuff as he edge her on.
Drink (Drunk) driving is one of the major causes of road accidents in Australia.
The penalty for committing such offense is quite serious, from a huge fine to lost of license.
I have been pulled over by one of the mobile RBT (Random Breath Test) unit on many occasions.
The caption is taken from road traffic authority campaign targeting speeding back in (I think) 2000.

This one come initially from a mistake... When I uploaded the RAW from my last session on Lightroom, I was on the way to immediately delete this picture from the first selection at the first round when suddenly a "what if" came to my mind. So I convinced myself to try working on it and see if I can reach the expected result I was thinking of.
Always think twice before "excluding" a shoot from your selection.
