Pocket Operators are a range of small electronic musical instruments by Teenage Engineering, about the size of pocket calculators. They can work individually or connected together, and can be synchronised to play in time with each other.
I've owned the PO-12 Rhythm (a drum-machine) since 2018, and recently acquired a PO-14 Sub (a bass-orientated synth/sequencer) to keep it company. Now, I just need to find more time to get properly acquainted with these two...

Lieben Dank an Katja Ruge & das Team!
A friend of mine has a home studio he calls "The Office". It's his old business office - still complete with huge desk etc. My little home office is about a quarter in size. I've dubbed it "The Annex" I had to stand on the couch to take this one.
About 10 years ago, my bandmate gave me a drum machine.
This is it!!!
The sound is not bad, but the operation is a little bit complex.
I used to practice the guitar with this.
Nothing compared to early days working at the studio. the current studio is like an office. small. some screens. that's it. when early days were so typical for metres and metres of wires and cables, drummachines, hardware, mixing desks, effect processing units, samplers, ... today all happens on keyboards, screens and with mice.

Directed by Alex DeBronhe
The problem of gender misunderstanding in the frame of techno ad libbing Alex hand beats live. The guy plays the drummachine, but the girl sitting beside him, can't hear him. He tries to explain his world of sounds to her but she is not able to overcome the sound barrier. She can't hear the sounds he hears and as she tries to understand him even harder, it only makes her feel sick. Vibrations coming from the unhearable overtones destroy the girl's body. The film ends with the open final making the audience reflect upon the topic. The titles represent the artistic idea of the film. The original music is created in the interdependence with the editing tempo, movements and gestures of the actors; it illustrates the emotions and thoughts of the characters.
These are pictures I snagged from an ebay auction way back in 2005. This is the Palmtree Instruments 'Airdrums' that was released in 1988 - a drum machine that you played by waving two MIDI enabled batons in the air. I noticed that there's next to nothing in terms of visual presence of these on the web - and absolutely nothing in terms of audio / video demos. Hopefully Matrixsynth will pick this up and motivate an Airdrum owner to do a Youtube demonstration. Or maybe even a sample set? Hmm?
