Oh my life, is changing every day

In every possible way

And oh my dreams, it's never quite as it seems

Never quite as it seems

I know I've felt like this before, but now I'm feeling it even more

Because it came from you

And then I open up and see, the person falling here is me

A different way to be

Ah, la da ah

La da ah

La, la

I want more, impossible to ignore

Impossible to ignore

And they'll come true, impossible not to do

Impossible not to do

And now I tell you openly, you have my heart so don't hurt me

You're what I couldn't find

A totally amazing mind, so understanding and so kind

You're everything to me

Oh my life, is changing every day

In every possible way

And oh my dreams, it's never quite as it seems

Cause you're a dream to me

Dream to me

or... did the Druid's make it Lake Huron in Canada?

Druid's Stone above Edale on the eastern end of Kinder Scout.

This was from a previous visit to Wistman's Wood, a fascinating oakwood on Dartmoor. It is one of the highest oakwoods in Britain and sort of looks like straight out of Lord of the Rings. Unfortunately for us, we just touched the extreme outskirts of the forest as it started to rain heavily upon our arrival and we quickly returned to the car park. Next time I hope we can properly explore this fantastic Dartmoor highlight.

………Looking west from Castlerigg Stone Circle - I wonder how different it was for them? We know so very little about their time & existence, but what is VERY clear WE will have left far more of a mark on planet Earth than ever they did!! Think again and think hard World leaders as you sit & pontificate the Earths future.

'No plastic'

'Lots and lots more trees'

'No combustion engines'

to name but three for those leaders back then.....................

I came across this ancient cork oak in the river valley near our quinta shortly after we moved to our new home...being a lover of celtic mythology, I was enchanted by this huge tree growing beside the path..sadly, the big forest fires of 2 years ago swept through this valley and I feared going back to see the damage to such a beautiful place...but it was there, a little blackened around the edges and sprouting new leaves. It is illegal to cut down cork oaks in Portugal unless they are dead...may this one live forever.

Thanks for your visit, faves, and kind comments!

Many of the rock names have been used for over a hundred years. Some fanciful names may have been invented by the Rocks House caretakers in their efforts to amuse visitors. Some appear to have been inspired by antiquarians who adhered to Druidical theories about their origins. Just a few names, such as the Noonstone whose shadow indicated midday, and old local names, Great Cannon and Little Cannon (now the Smartie Tube), may come from an earlier tradition. In his 1786 lecture, Some account of the Brimham rocks in Yorkshire, Hayman Rooke mentions the Idol Rock, the Great Cannon, and the Noonstone next to which a fire was lit on Midsummer Eve. One of the most striking characteristics of Druidism is the degree to which it is free of dogma and any fixed set of beliefs or practices. In this way it manages to offer a spiritual path, and a way of being in the world that avoids many of the problems of intolerance and sectarianism that the established religions have encountered.

A prehistoric stone circle on Dartmoor, England explored by steveblackdog (www.flickr.com/photos/steveblackdog/) and myself. The sunset was stunning and helped to set the stones, Hope you enjoy the scene.

Ilton near Masham, North Yorkshire.

"The Druid’s Temple is in fact not a real temple, but a nineteenth century folly styled after stone circles and well known prehistoric monuments such as Stonehenge.

It was built to alleviate local unemployment, allowing William Danby, a wealthy landowner of the time to pay workers a shilling a day for their labour.

At less than 200 years old, it is nonetheless an atmospheric and intriguing location."

This massive arch, located at the head of Elephant Canyon in the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park, is named for the similarity between its large blocks and those of the famous Stonehenge. The height is difficult to appreciate without anything to put it into context - it rises around 500 feet from the canyon below it.

Had a great time at Brands Hatch yesterday.

Not sure why I have never posted this on here, it has to be my fave shot from last year, or at least one of them. The wonderful Stonehenge under the stars with some wonderful mist.
