I get to watch this bundle of Joy on Tuesday's and Friday's.... how lucky am I... very sad for my DIL who had to return to work...
Hard to believe tomorrow she will be 5 months old... time is passing much too quickly!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Caturday...
Whenever you smooch her head, she drools all over... but obviously, just sitting in the sun made her slobber... lol..
She landed on the favorite Merlin perch to expel a pellet and proceeded to expel large juicy pellets and of course, those images were out of focus. Well, maybe fortunately since it was kind of drooly and gross. It was overcast and she was in the shade making it really weird lighting. BUT I was very happy to see her yesterday!
This is pretty much what moose do most of the time. She eats the same way I do. Notice the drooly goodness and lack of a napkin. Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, USA, July 2020

Geek is at Suicide Dollz this round and I really wanted to do something different, fun & cute. You see tongues, right? But rarely, do you see PUPPY tongues in SL! 'Squirrel?? Puppy Tongue' is a fun drooly tongue that has so many options to choose from!
All original mesh, as always. ♥♥ Enjoy!!

Elsa the dogo.. she is a drooly mix of hunting breeds and was rescued from an abusive family . she used to be afraid of people in hats , but we worked it out with training :)
The West Pier at Brighton is slowly falling into the sea, it looked wonderful on this early morning visit bathed in sunlight.

Meet the lovely Mr Harley,
He's a real gentle giant with a big heart, devoted to keeping his home safe and calm. You'll notice his eyes wide an alert at all times day and nightand his noble stature as he surveys his estate with pride! This doggy believes himself to be a lap dog despite his grand size so beware of drooly snuggles!
Although Josh only came to live with us 3 years ago, we have known him since he was a puppy. I took this photo of Josh 11 years ago shortly after our friend Helen brought him home. I think it was the first photo that I ever took of Josh. It's slightly out of focus, but it is hard to keep a puppy still.
I will be going through old photos of Josh the rest of the year to pay tribute to the great big drooly lug that we loved so much.
We miss him so very much....
Taken back in the fall of 1978 while on a ten day surf fishing trip with friends from work. We were staying at a rented cottage at the "Allen House" and were going to go out to the beach after midnight when the tide was right. I was reading in a lounge chair in front of the cottage while snacking on some soft mints and this buck walked out of the thick Bayberry Bushes at the far end of the field, about a hundred yards away. My camera bag was inside and I was really bummed out that I didn't have it right beside me. As quietly and slowly as possible I got up, went and fetched the camera, came out and sat down again... totally surprised that the buck was still around. I waited and watched a few minutes, sucking on a few more mints while he seemed to be getting a bit closer. This was good because I was bummed out again when I realized that the lens on the camera (a Nikkormat FTn) was a 50mm, not the best choice for getting close photos of very shy deer. However, this guy wasn't shy. He slowly approached to nearly "touching distance", and stood where he is in the photo, leaning left and right a few times as if he was looking for something behind me. Then he stretched out a bit and I could see his nose working as he was sniffing something. Then I realized he must have caught the scent of the mints that I had. I carefully offered him one (spooked him a bit opening the bag), and he gently took it. What happened next was completely unexpected. His eyes opened wide (whites showing), lowered his head and spit it out on the grass, all drooly. Look closely at the tiny drool drop on a whisker just below his nose. After licking his nose a few times he picked it up again and chewed it. He had one more before a few does appeared by the Bayberry Bushes, which caused him to trot off to meet them and probably surprise them with his "minty breath".
That evening we were having dinner on a large enclosed porch of the "main house" where we had meals with other guests that were staying there. Halfway into our dinner, what looked like the same buck appeared and stood right in front of the windows, looking in at everyone eating. One of the girls serving shouted into the kitchen "Hey, Frisky's here!". A minute later the cook (no chef's hat, but a white apron), came out with a long carrot sticking out of his back pocket. He opened the double doors and stood just inside. "Frisky" walked up, put his front feet on the top step (there were 2 steps), carefully reached around with his head, being mindful of exactly where his antlers were, and almost delicately took the carrot. He backed out and made it disappear pretty quick. But... it was "one carrot and done", as the cook had other matters to attend to. So this explained exactly why this deer didn't spook when it found me earlier in the day. I was supremely bummed out that I didn't have my camera at the dinner table, or at least close by. Today, my cell phone is always with me, instantly ready for action.

Another shot with the misters going full blast---but it gives an interesting pastel background (and a drooly little bear)
Josh just turned 11 in January and he had slowed down quite a bit in the last few months showing some signs of dementia including getting stuck in neutral at times on our walks.
On Sunday we went to Fredericton New Brunswick in Canada and had a nice walk on an old railway bridge.
We made a pitstop at Moosehorn Wildlife refuge in Maine on the way home. This is the photo I took on our way home. Sadly, it was the last photo I took of Josh.
When we got home Josh refused to eat. Later he vomited a couple of times and once more in the morning before he got to the vet clinic. He also had diarrhea.
His temp was low 99 so he was given warm IV fluids to warm him and for dehydration. He had labored breathing but it was not from his heart or lungs. Blood tests showed compromised liver function.
Ralph later had massive diarrhea and started to vomit. They were both put on antibiotics and Josh was also given cortisone for inflammation. Both were put on strict limited water and food to be started the next day.
Josh refused to eat though he would drink his water. He ate reluctantly later Wednesday afternoon but vomited it 40 minutes later.
I got home from work that night and took both dogs out for a walk. Josh stopped and lay down while I went on with Ralph. I ended up bring Ralph in and going back for Josh. We waited together for 5 or more minutes until he was ready to walk up the hill.
He stayed in the entryway which he often did while I went to prepare dinner. I went to check on him 15 minutes later and he was gone....
The vet said it was just a coincidence that both dogs got a virus at this time and that Josh probably had a liver tumor.
Ralph is recovering nicely.
It was almost exactly 3 years since we bought his great big goofy, drooly loving dog into our house when his mom could no longer care for him or herself. It was a gift to Helen as well as to ourselves. We have known Josh since he was a puppy..... he's back with Helen now.....
I was so glad that he waited for me to come home so that we could take one more slow walk together.....
