Inspired by a brilliant tutorial on YouTube, I shot, edited and produced the GTA map zoom effect from GTA5. Every tutorial I have seen has used ‘Google Maps’ to gather the imagery required for this effect, however I wanted to put my DJI Mavic Mini 2 to the challenge!
Heading out in Barnsley, I used the drone to gather aerial photographs of my subject area. I then proceeded to use Adobe After Effects CC to fit the imagery together and to animate the zoom effect.
Disclaimer: The clouds in this footage are an added effect which can be found in the resource pack provided by ‘Andreas Hem’ in the YouTube video titled ‘GTA Map Effect | Tutorial’
