Built and opened in 1996
It was announced in July 2008 that both McDonald's and KFC are opening a restaurant (both featuring a Drive-Thru facility) in 2009 at the exit of the new Southern ring road of Zaandam. Like most of these projects there was a delay but McDonald's opened its doors in August 2010. When visiting this store (October 2010) KFC was still closed and about to open.
Behind the both restaurants there will be a parking lot and probably another brico-hypermarket. This area is still under reconstruction.
Strange enough this brand new store has no EasyOrder and/or McCafé.

This moose seems to be taking a leisurely stroll thru the drive-thru at Starbucks. He's enjoying a few snacks along the way. Branches must be mighty tasty. I wonder why he didn't order something to wash them all down?

We saw this on an auto body shop along Interstate 2 in the Rio Grande Valley. Electronic billboards around on Texas highways proclaimed, "Drive like a Texan: Kind, Courteous, Safe." I don't have any real evidence but I'm not sure that's the experience we had, but then we are considered 'Snow birds' or 'Winter Texans.'

At the drive thru window- yes, I asked first! She is the manager.
Am not sure if the baby was hers or one of the employees or even a customer’s but the baby is adorable! Will post another picture tomorrow of the baby "waving"
Taken in the Winton Place neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio while looking North.
There's some very active RR tracks up a small hill to the right of where I'm standing with a few steps up to the tracks. We were shooting trains that day and so had pulled off the road next to the stairs. i fairly quickly concluded that it would be too close to the trains to stand up there and so turned my eye to see what else might make a good shot. This colorful building caught my eye as something that would make a great addition to my "Convenience Store" album.
If you look closely above the road on the left, you can see an old RR bridge that crosses the street in the distance. Actually, the tracks split about where I'm standing and just before the bridge. We first took a road going right and went to the opposite side of the tracks and took some close up shots of the trains that speed past us going North. I was so close i scared the heck out of myself and so we went to the other side of the bridge and got some great shots of the other North bound trains just as they turned North at the end of the bridge. It was a successful day shooting. I only wish we could have caught some South bound trains as he light would have been better

One thing I noticed a lot while I was in the US was how many drive thrus there are, everything from fast food to ATMs. Quite bizarre to see this drive thru liquor store with all the anti-drink and drive messages we get bombarded with in the UK!
This McDonald's is across the street from the site where Ray Kroc opened his first McDonald's.

UPDATE: August 2022 Google Street View shows that this McDonald's location is now a gray box. I don't know if any of the McDonald's history displays inside are still there.
A couple of quick and dirty handheld, B&W night shots of the McDonald's drive-thru on Gorgie Road at night. Not somewhere I'd go for food myself, but was passing on the way elsewhere just after dark, and the big windows and brightly lit interior and signs contrasting with the winter night were irresistible for pics!

This is a test shot from my latest LEGO animation called "Appetite Lost". All of the lighting in this shot is achieved with on-set LifeLites. The only post-processing is a little bit of color balancing. This is not the final shot, but it's getting close!
