A splash of red, in the form of DB Cargo Class 66 diesel locomotive 66139, adds some brightness to an otherwise overcast scene. The locomotive is seen approaching Barton-under-Needwood, on a driver training run, as 0Z80 Toton Traction Maintenance Depot to Landor Street Junction.

59003 'Yeoman Highlander' is pictured powering through Heeley on the outskirts of Sheffield working 6M83 Tinsley to Bardon Hill aggregates train. This was 59003's debut in Yorkshire and probably the first time a 59 has worked a freight in Yorkshire for few years.

Freightliner have been conducting regular driver training trips over the Tyseley-Henley in Arden - Stratford upon Avon and Stratford - Hatton lines recently for them to operate Railhead Treatment Trains trains this autumn. 66415 in the Genesee & Wyoming orange livery crosses the Stratford canal near Whitlocks End on 28 July 2021. After a dull start to the day and then the sun came out after lunch but there was nothing worth going out for so i thought i would have to do something so this is it Transpennine express liveried 68031 passing Bootham stray with 0B87 the late running 15.00 York to Scarborough driver training run 04/02/2019.

Tram 258 was seen at Gayfield Place/Elm Row on Leith Walk while on a driver training run towards the city centre. Daytime driver training on the new section of route from Picardy Place to Leith and Newhaven started on 19 April 2023. In this picture, the tram is between the future stops at McDonald Road and Picardy Place. After reversing on the York Place crossover, the tram started out towards Newhaven again.

Looks as though it's wearing some sort of tribal warpaint on its front. Probably a good thing seeing how Leicester's motorists behave towards buses these days.

This former South Yorkshire, Alexander PS bodied, Volvo B10M is now 23 years old, being new in May 1990. I'm not a fan of First's new livery in any way, as I believe it lacks in imagination and strong identity. However, seeing Leicester's other training bus, 60374, head along Charles Street a few days before, in a condition which looked as though it had just been dredged up from the bottom of the local canal, a smarten up for the training buses was long overdue in order to present the company in a more respectable light.
