I've driven by this church a bunch of times and even tried to capture this shot before, but failed. This time, I think I nailed it. The spotlight throws a shadow from the statue of Jesus onto the cross, effectively crucifying him. When I saw it, I couldn't help but wonder if it was an accident or done on purpose. I'm still not sure.
I made this "glowing" effect by simply spinning the lens during a slightly extended exposure. I think they turned out well.
Also, some of these are duplicates with the white balance and exposure manipulated in post production. I'd love to know your opinions on which are more effective.

I've driven by this sign for Twin Ponds park or nature preserve or whatever exactly it says for years. It's off Route 25A in Centerport. Always thought it sounded like a nice spot, so today we decided to explore with the girls. It turns out, the twin ponds are actually across on the south side of the road, and here were just a few short trails that led out to a lovely view of the south end of Northport Harbor. The girls didn't care much - it was still fun. Next time we'll go check out the ponds.
