This is a typical Karrozzin or Horse driven carraige, a traditional Maltese form of Transport! It was a wealthy form of transport in times where the car was not even thought of! Behind it is the Palace of the Grandmaster, which is now the Parliment! The Palace houses one of the greatest and most lavish corridors and staircases in Europe.

American Airlines Flight 77 slammed into the Pentagon at 9:37 AM on September 11, 2001. All 58 passengers were killed, plus 125 military and civilian personnel. Those aboard Flight 77 included three 11-year-olds, their chaperones, and two National Geographic staffers who were bringing them on a trip to the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary near Santa Barbara. Also aboard was the Falkenberg family, who had just sold their Washington, D.C. home and were traveling to Australia. There was also Australian Red Cross member Yvonne Kennedy in the midst of her round-the-World trip as she travelled to Hawaii. Conservative commentator Barbara Olson, then-Solicitor General Theodore Olson’s wife, was traveling to Los Angeles to record an episode of the show “Politically Incorrect,” along with one Ethiopian doctor, Dr. Yeneneh Betru, whose birthday was two days ago, on January 21st. Dr. Betru was born on January 21st, 1966, in Ethiopia. He dreamed of becoming a doctor, a dream born of a promise he made to his grandmother to cure her of all that plagued an older woman. Dr. Yeneneh Betru then immigrated to the United States in 1982 and eventually attended the Abbey School in Colorado, then the College of Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles, and the University of Michigan’s School of Medicine, and completed a residency at the USC Medical Center in Los Angeles. He then became the Director of Medical Affairs at IPC-The Hospitalist Company in Burbank, California. Pioneering in Hospitalist care, Dr. Betru crisscrossed the country, training doctors. An ambitious young man with drive and a passion for caring, Dr. Betru was a great example and role model for his family and friends. Many would credit him with his knowledge and expertise, saying they would not be where they are without Dr. Betru. But in June 1998, Dr. Betru received word that his grandmother was dying, and he had to return to Ethiopia to see if he could help. Despite helping the local doctors, they lacked the proper facilities and the necessary equipment needed to save her, and his grandmother passed away from her illness. Knowing that Ethiopia lagged behind the rest of the World regarding healthcare, Dr. Betru would dedicate himself to improving the healthcare scene in Ethiopia to make sure that what happened to his grandmother would never happen again. Dr. Betru was able to secure a half-dozen dialysis machines, solutions, and supplies, enough to start a clinic. The Ethiopian government tasked Dr. Betru with selecting a suitable location for this clinic, and he returned to the United States to get the plan in motion.
On Tuesday, September 11th, 2001, Dr. Betru was aboard American Airlines Flight 77, departing Dulles International Airport in the Commonwealth of Virginia for Los Angeles International Airport in Los Angeles, California. But as Flight 77 flew over Appalachia, terrorists took over the flight and then flew it back to Virginia. By 9:37 AM, the terrorist crashed Flight 77 into the Pentagon, killing all aboard and 125 military and civilian personnel. Dr. Yeneneh Betru was among the dead.
Dr. Yeneneh Betru was a doctor driven to save and to serve. His promise to his grandmother formed the cornerstone of his mission, and he was close to fulfilling it. When his grandmother died due to Illness, Dr. Betru didn't let Death have the final say. He made sure that her Death wouldn't be the end of the story because God turned tragedy into a testimony. Dr. Betru dedicated his life to service and ensured that his grandmother's legacy would live on in the people he cared for. Though Dr. Betru’s life was cut short by Evil, God ensured his legacy would live on through the mission set forth. When we involve God in our lives, He doesn't leave us where we are; He works in our lives because He loves us so much. God’s goodness and His purpose will always bring us to something beautiful. God was working with Dr. Yeneneh Betru to ensure his promise was fulfilled. Dr. Yeneneh Betru is memorialized with the other victims killed that morning at the Pentagon Memorial in Virginia, and on Panel S-69 of the South Reflecting Pool at the National September 11 Memorial and Museum in New York.
