De levenstuinen van het Groot Hontschoten.
Between the Veluwe-massif and the IJssel-valley some 1.6 hectares of arable land and meadows have been transformed from a philosophical approach into a unique combination of gardens.
Western Lifegardens in accordance with the Zen principle.
The range of ideas on which the planning of these gardens is based appeals to an increasing number of people. Initially, these gardens were private but since 1997 they have been open to the public.
Here a natural, high-quality tourist attraction is emerging.

Another long day at work today with no computer, will try to catch you early posters in the morning, see the rest of you at night.
For Macro Mondays "Drips, drops and splashes" theme. Taken with an off camera flash to stop the motion. This sort of thing is all about timing and it isn't easy to get it right. Probably took 700 shots and only about 20 were anywhere near interesting.

We would normally in Florida right now, but given everything that is going on, we are now slated to be there in November. I do miss walking the beach with my bride, but we can wait.
The good news is Spring is finally here and we are starting to see some new arrivals at our feeders. We have a single male western tanager that has been here for about a week now. Hopefully his friends will show up soon. In addition, a little male lazuli bunting was here yesterday. And the hummingbirds are here in force!

This image is supposed to represent the drip, drip, drip of the news. Yesterday it was announced that schools in my state will be closed for the next 2 weeks. It will be interesting to see how we all transition to electronic learning. It's one day at a time as we adjust to our new circumstances. I am staying away from public settings so no Jazzercise for me, working out at home is just not the same. New challenges and new routines coming our way. I'd love to hear how you are all managing the changes and challenges you are facing.

Water dripping off an Apple Snail held at sunrise by an Everglades Snail Kite. This species in the Hawk family only eats this for their diet.
Macro Mondays - theme: Liquid Droplets
Although short of time I couldn't get this very cool theme out of my head ... so at some point I finally gave in:
This is the result of an impromptu 'photo shooting' (handheld, without tripod or flash) in my mum's bathroom who I was visiting this weekend. I used the small shower head of the bathtub to create droplets. These are the drops that form after the water has been turned off.
This image is well under 7.5 cm. The little cyan nozzles are about 2 - 3 mm in diametre

Saturday Self-Challenge: Water
I had every intention of shooting a long exposure of water, but the opportunity did not arrive for me. Attempted a long exposure shot of a stream with a small rapids, but failed miserably. So I grabbed my trusty old bottle, and photographed some water dripping out of it.

The Stockton Terminal and Eastern is one of two famed independent shortlines still operating in that gritty Central Valley City. The 111 year old road is now a subsidiary of Omnitrax and operates with a small roster of switch engines. On a dark rainy evening MP15DC 777 rolls slowly east down Roosevelt Street along the 2500 ft of street running through a nice residential neighborhood after departing the UP interchange. This location is between North Pilgrim St. and North Airport Way.
