This was taken at a Loch near to my home just as the sun set. There were gentle waves in the water and I thought the long exposure would make for a more gentle break between the sand and the water than it has. That said, the LE did make a great job of the clouds.

Everything is open
Nothing is set in stone
Rivers turn to ocean
Oceans tide you home
Home is where your heart is
But your heart had to roam
Drifting over bridges
Never to return
Watching bridges burn
You're driftwood floating underwater
Breaking into pieces pieces pieces
Just driftwood hollow and of no use
Waterfalls will find you bind you grind you
Nobody is an island
Everyone has to go
Pillars turn to butter
Butterflying low
Low is where your heart is
But your heart has to grow
Drifting under bridges
I started out not knowing what I was doing in this picture...AT ALL...after some time, the pieces fell into place ...funny how that happens...a bunch of unexplained things turn into one beautiful symphony...

It’s Been a busy week for me, not even picked up the camera in the last 10 days but now I’m off for a week, which will go in a blink of an eye. I better go and find it, Have a good weekend you Flickr lot.
The beach north of Coquille Point in Bandon is filled with driftwood that has floated down the Coquille River. It's hard to imagine the destructive power of wind and water behind this log littered beach.
Thanks, as always, for stopping by and for all of your kind comments -- I appreciate them all.

Waves lap against a piece of driftwood washed ashore a beach on the north end of Galveston Island, Texas, as ships transit Bolivar Roads in the background.
Stumbled upon this driftwood on deserted Pelican beach, just me, the waves, and this piece of wood that looked like it had seen more of the world than I ever will. Took a photo to capture its rugged beauty... because if driftwood falls on a beach and no one's around to post it to Flickr, did it ever exist?
Happy weekend everyone. Thanks in advance for any kind likes and comments !
Another day another walk further along Druridge Bay, this time in a bitterly cold wind making the wind chill almost unbearable at times, but I waited it out and got a few decent snaps
Does anyone else like scrambling through driftwood to see what they can find? Enroute to Tomahawk Island in the distance.
Thanks to everyone who takes the time to comment on my photos, they are greatly appreciated!

Pillars of driftwood rise from the sand
Big Talbot Island has an amazing driftwood forest, but my eyes were immediately drawing to this little collection of pillars at the water's edge. They are actually quite small (maybe 4" - 8") in height, so I set up my tripod very close to the ground, and had to sit in the wet sand to frame the shot.

What you see is about all that's left of Driftwood. Kind of an odd name for a town that's not close to water..:) Just saying..:) Anyway, here's some more info on the town:
Driftwood is a census-designated place and unincorporated community in northern Hays County, Texas, United States. It lies along Farm to Market Road 150, north of the city of San Marcos, the county seat of Hays County.[1] Its elevation is 1,043 feet (318 m).[2] Although Driftwood is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 78619;[3] the ZCTA for ZIP Code 78619 had a population of 2,467 at the 2010 census,[4] which is far larger than the population of the center of the community itself.[5]
Although the earliest settlers arrived in the area now known as Driftwood around 1850, the community was really established in the 1880s. A post office was among the results of the community's significant growth in that decade. Driftwood shrank almost to a ghost town by the early twentieth century; although it grew somewhat by the middle of the century, it returned to its almost-deserted state by the 1970s.[5]
Driftwood is also home to Driftwood Estate Winery, The Wildflower Barn Event Center, The Salt Lick, a relatively well-known barbecue restaurant and the Lazy 8 Ranch which had its dry mix products featured by the Texas Department of Agriculture in the 2010 Texas State Fair
