Dried fruit is a delicious and healthy snack. There is undoubtedly a grocer near you who sells it from the bag by the kilo (or you can buy it prepacked, I suppose).
These dried mango pieces came from Kakulas Bros. in William St, Northbridge, who also sell nuts, grains, rices and other dried fruits by weight.

I've been tagged by my dear friend Barbara...
To reveal the contents of my fridge! %-)
I'm not usually very good at getting these things done...
But Barbara and Slinky are two of my favourite Flickr friends...
So I thought I'd better make the effort. %-)
The timing was quite good actually...
Cos I'd just done a big shop on Thursday night...
Lots of healthy stuff too... Fruit.. Veges... Yoghurt...
A few nibbles to go with the crackers in the cupboard...
And a bottle of Old Mont Feijoa Cider... my special treat! %-)
Don't worry... I won't pass on the tag...
I see that Barbara's already got Jainbow and Stezzer!
But if any of you feel the urge to reveal YOUR fridges too...
I'd love to have a peek! %-)
Help yourself to a wee snack if you see anything you fancy...
That's if you can read the labels! %-)
I'd love to share a Cider with you...
May sound a little unusual...
But it tastes DIVINE! %-)

April 15, 2013: Edible Book Fest at the UW-Green Bay Cofrin Library.
Book: The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros.
Entry: "The House on Mango Street" - gingerbread house with wheat Chex roof, dried mango pieces, coconut grass, ice cream cone tree - Joe Hardenbrook
My entry for my library's "Edible Book Fest" - it's The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros: a gingerbread house with a wheat Chex roof, a "street" of dried mango, coconut "grass," sliced almonds, and an ice cream cone "tree."
Cheese, which I hadn't had much of on this trip, fried fish cake, dried mango, nuts, olives, fish and fried octopus.
My mini-review of the hotel on FlyerTalk available here.
I was surprisingly pleased with these flavors. It is a dried mango covered in a sugar & chili powder mix. The only thing that could make it better would be salt too - I think that would bring out the contrast between the sweet and spicy more.
bought at Trader Joe's in Seattle. I finished the last pieces today :( They were sweet and very spicy... very, very YUMMY!
I haven't checked the shops here yet but... hm, I don't think they carry any.
Living between a Chinese neighbourhood and an Italian neighbourhood has it's advantages.
From the Chinese grocer I bought wolfberries, crystal sugar, taro root, Shiitake mushrooms, Soy Sauce, Miso dressing, rice topping and dried mango. From the Italian shop I bought two kind of fresh buns, pizza dough, smoked paprika, tomato paste in a tube, vegetable spread, Abruzzo salami and "Le Flambeau du Cap Bon" harissa sauce from Tunisia.
I dream of having themed bentos, of little smiley faces and forests and sprites, of seasonality, and of gorgeous pictures thereof... but if it ever happens, it's certainly not going to happen on a Wednesday morning at 6:00 after I work until 8:00 the night before. I must remember that my first goal is to save money and enjoy my lunches.
A big part of the reason I exceeded the airline weight limit on my flight back from the Philippines to Taipei
08.24.09: Jana surprised me with tickets to a Twins game and a delicious dinner bento prepared by Chef Felipe! So much fun and so delicious! Thank you Jana! Thank you Phil!
