This exhibition has death and suicide as major topics. Yeah I know that sounds very serious, so Cold added some 'Xmess ones' too to make it less 'heavy'. Her motto 'the Unbearable Darkness of Being'
However, humor is very important to her too and you can find that element in her work and in the avatars she chooses to wear.

Everyone knows that tributing yourself indicates some serious ego issues. For my defense: I planned to do this shot with Prozac09 long ago as there are some significant flaws in the original (starting with the dresscode...) and as I do not want to tell him later that all the cool ideas for photos were already used up with his older brother...
Prozac09 is now two month older than his brother was when we shot the original. It has been one of the first warmer and brighter days, so this was the best opportunity. I was afraid that the 3.9 pictures per second of the 5D Mk II might be not enough compared to the 5 pictures per second of the 30D I used 4 years ago. But it turned out that I just had to throw the little one higher this time to get the same sequence... ;-)
Also you see what difference 2 months in that age make: Prozac05 was just thrown like a flour sack, while Prozac09 actively coordinated his body midair. They both had the same fun though as you can see in the huge original size of 55 MP.
What it took:
Knowing how to set up the shot my main concern was the timing and the post-processing. I knew I had to use a rather uniform background and I planned to have my full body in the shot this time (did not work out completely...). So now you see 5 layers (from 5 photos) merged together. I originally used the 3:2 format of the original but after I was finished it just looked too compressed. So I went back to the computer and merged it in widescreen 16:9 (which is nice because now I can watch it on my HD TV).

After her former exhibitions here at Nitroglobus gallery I bet you all know who Cold is. If you don't ... shame on you ^-^

Note by the Artist
My SL name is HeLa Lennie (Hela means cell type in an immortal cell line btw).
I discovered Second Life quite by accident; I was bored in RL after my graduation at the Academy of Fine Arts, Graphic Design and was looking for something to distract me.
In Second Life, my passion has turned to fashion, so I launched a fashion brand called He La.
He La is a brand that is mostly high fashion; inspired by my Real Life story, which is not exactly pretty. That's why my designs contain a 'touch of darkness'.
Besides the He La Design brand I run a He La furniture shop, which is just starting.
In real life, except for design, I am a lover of fantasy and photography, which leads me in Second Life, to make pictures expressing parts of the RL me.
One day my friend Cold Frog introduced me to Dido Haas, co-owner/curator of Nitroglobus and the story began. The story of Nightmare, this exhibition which tells the hidden meaning of my life - translated into & described as a nightmare.

I will explain one of them; "Hollow" :
I dreamed of that moment | the moment that is crucial for someone who has been waiting for so long to be freed from the darkness | I had to see the light and desperately needed to be dragged out of that darkness | longing for a new beginning | a restart without suffering | the suffering of the darkness would end, with the help of a cold touch | I would be free.
