I've been daydreaming all day about photography. It's definitely more interesting that folding laundry and scrubbing toilets.
Every now and again I see a black and white photo that looks like it could have been drawn by some artist. Just simple lines on paper. When I got home and saw this shot on a large display I got the that feeling that it had been drawn by my camera. The magic ends when I tell you that it is the remains of an old dock in the local river taken early one foggy morning. So just imagine I painted it instead.
Drawn a blank with this one...this impressive specimen landed close by (2-3cm long)...anyone help with an ID? Marsh Hide at Baron's Haugh NR...edit - thanks to Deida now got an ID

Hydrangea flowers always delight me. I can become lost in studying the variety of colors within each petal. "A certain blue enters your soul."

Yesterday while exploring my yard, I spotted this spider web and knew I had to shoot it. The wind was definitely a factor in making it difficult to get a sharp image. I used my macro lens and two extension tubes so I could be up close however none of the images were sharp enough to use. This completely blurry one spoke to me. I don't create many abstract images so this is outside of my comfort zone but I love how you know exactly what it is and feel drawn in towards the center of the web. Maybe I'll get lucky and can try again on a less windy day.
A spooky perspective of an abandoned over grown old home, the main living room window. This old place has so much still inside, as if they just left? The curtains are still on the window even!??
I don't know the story behind this place but it makes me think how many Christmas tress set in this window and owners looked out at the weather? All the history left behind?

Light and shade. Yin and Yang. Positive, negative.
Shadows and leaves.

I am not sure if Mathew would have gone this route, but he definitely inspired me to create this!

The bullring, drawn into life by JoaquÃn Rucoba — the same mind behind Málaga’s Mercado de Atarazanas — began rising from the ground in 1874. After a pause in the work, it finally opened its doors on 11 June 1876, with the roar of a traditional corrida de toros.
Decades later, its sands bore a darker weight. In 1939, as the Spanish Civil War drew to a close, the bullring was turned into a prison camp. Again in 1943, during the Second World War, its walls confined people instead of echoing with cheers.
By 1976, the building’s history earned it protection as a Conjunto histórico, and in 1981 it was recognised as a Bien de Interés Cultural. Most recently, after a major renovation beginning in 2017, the bullring was reborn — not only as an arena, but as a year-round cultural centre, where history, memory, and community now share the space.
This is actually a older shot I had posted a year or two ago. I was looking for something to post and I ended up touching this shot up to repost. This is a moment shot taken inside Crackle Barrel Restaurant of my wife and I. This mirror was setting on top a barrel. You can see the barrel top and clothing for sale in the background. I guess I wanted my Flickr friends to meet my best friend and see this bald guy behind the camera too lol... A monochrome portrait that's somewhat different.
Thanks to everyone who visited my images and God bless you and yours...
