Took a bunch of shots today, just looking around the house and yard. This is the one I'm happiest with: a picture of a lion's head pull on the drawer of the antique sideboard in my dining room. The lighting is just the afternoon light coming in through the dining room windows. I shot on a tripod to cope with the longish exposure (1.5s, ƒ/8, ISO100). I'm annoyed that there are some blown highlights in the details, but I'm otherwise pleased with the shot.
I had a close runner-up, of a completely different subject, but it didn't grab my interest quite as well as this one did.

Millions of years ago, mud and dinosaur guts were crushed under the earth’s surface becoming beautiful marble. Iron ore as old as the Big Bang was then turned into the steel that I bravely hunted and gathered from a local steel mill. I combined these ancient materials using modern machinery, my opposable thumbs and intelligent design to create an ageless brushed steel beauty in just a matter of weeks. (Note: Some dinosaurs were harmed in the making of this table. Sorry.)
