Dinant is a wonderful Belgian city where you can relax on the waterfront. There on that beautiful waterfront you can really enjoy a spectacle in the old-fashioned way with the water of the river in a shining leading role. As you stare at the eternally living protagonist and mentally recoil with the waves when another beautiful boat sails by, the reflections of the clouds come to life in the water. The waves then resemble the beautiful long hair of the actress who plays the best supporting role of her life. You are the calm itself and it is as if you are floating through the air on a saxophone. Meanwhile, you take another sip of your ice-cold drink. You are immersed in the play that takes place before your eyes for free but with a imaginable handbrake on the saxophone of the invisible Mr. Sax, the theater piece suddenly comes to a stop. Then the play turn into a beautiful painting with the boats in the foreground. Those boats together really look like a harmonica. In your mind you hear a passionate music virtuoso playing a beautiful Belgian tune on that sailing harmonica while you take the last sip of the drink that tastes even better than ever before.

Dinant is een stad waar je heerlijk kunt ontspannen aan de waterkant. Daar aan die prachtige waterkant kun je echt nog ouderwets genieten van een schouwspel met het water van de rivier in een glanzende hoofdrol. Als je staart naar de eeuwig levende hoofdrolspeler en in gedachten mee deinst met de golven wanneer er weer eens een mooie boot voorbijvaart dan komen de reflecties van de wolken tot leven in het schilderachtige Dinant. De golven lijken daarna op het prachtige lange haar van de actrice die de bijrol van haar leven speelt naast hoofdrolspeler meneer water. Terwijl jij nog een slok van je ijskoude drankje neemt. Je gaat op in het theaterstuk dat zich gratis voor je ogen afspeelt en de reflecties van de groene heuvel aan de ene kant en de typische Belgische huizen aan de andere kant zorgen ervoor dat je zweeft van geluk op een saxofoon. Dat zweven kan helaas niet voorkomen dat het theaterstuk door het trekken van ene meneer Sax aan een denkbeeldige handrem op diezelfde saxofoon tot stilstand komt. Maar niet getreurd, want het schouwspel gaat hierdoor meteen over in een prachtig schilderij waarbij de bootjes op de voorgrond in elkaar opgaan als een echte harmonica. In gedachten hoor je een gepassioneerde straatmuzikant een prachtig deuntje spelen terwijl jij het laatste slokje neemt van het koude drankje dat nog lekkerder smaakt dan ooit tevoren.

Na het plaatje van SBB 193 in Osterspai (D) kwam de melding dat SETG onderweg was met kalkslurry. Dus snel de auto in en naar Filsen (D) gelukkig maar 'n erg kort ritje. Ook hier stond de zon goed. Auto parkeren en ladder over de vangrail en wachten maar. Na de stopper op blokafstand passeert hier om 16u45 SETG 193 736 met de kalkslurry aan de haak. Trein is afkomstig uit Slovenië (SI) en gaat hier verder naar Schwerte (D) ,overgavestation, en verder met diesellok naar Hagen (D) eindbestemming.

We were lucky these clouds of rain just passed by.

Koningin Juliana bestelde in 1958 speciaal voor het staatsbezoek van de Britse koningin Elisabeth en prins Philip deze Rolls Royce. Hij werd aangepast aan de wensen van Juliana. The Royal Grand Palace is a complex of buildings at the heart of Bangkok, Thailand. The palace has been the official residence of the Kings of Siam and later Thailand since 1782. It consists of not only royal and throne halls, but also a number of government offices as well as the renowned Temple of the Emerald Buddha. It covers an area of 218,000 square metres and is surrounded by four walls, 1900 metres in length. After King Rama I ascended to the throne in 1782, the palace was built. Prior to this, the royal palace and centre of administration had been located in Thonburi, on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River. For various reasons, the new King considered the former capital to be unsuitable and decided to establish a new capital on the other side of the river. Na de plaatjes in Osterspai (D) werd er onderweg eerst wat gegeten en van 'n lekker drankje genoten om daarna nog 'n uurtje naar de bekende stek te Leutesdorf (D) te gaan. Na de papiertrein uit Sloe (NL) gingen 10 min. later de overweg bomen weer naar beneden en toonde het sein groen. Dan om 19u40 passeert in 'n lekker zomeravond zonnetje BLS 475 413 met de volbeladen Ambrogio. In Braubach (D) passeerde hij 's morgens verkeerd voor de zon. Deze trein gaat verder naar richting Köln/Aachen-west en verder België in.

Al eerder vanaf 16,december,2022 ,ging een nacht trein op van Arriva rijden tussen Maastricht en Schiphol.

Tijdens de eerste ritten was er hapje drankje, en muziek optreden van muziekanten en een dj in de treinstellen voor de passagiers

Vanochtend ging mijn wekker,wou uiteraard de de eerste Arriva nachttrein rit mee maken, ben heen gaan fietsen naar het station,ook de rit met helaas ook plus een minuut vertraging ,dus veel tijd was er niet jammer,beter iets dan niets...

In the evening of 11 February Amsterdam is covered in a coat of fresh snow. The snow fell in sudden flurries and gusts and turned the world white and wonderful. With the canals in the city and occasional high winds, there can be a nip in the air, but packing gloves and a scarf should keep you warm enough. There is something very beautiful about Amsterdam in the winter. It does occasionally snow in Amsterdam in February, but that almost always means just a light dusting. I walk in my neighbourhood and made some photos of the snow. When it snows the light and atmosphere is really beautiful. The steep bridges over the canals in Amsterdam are really slippery, especially for cars. The best way to travel in the snow is by bicycle, tram, walking or better by sleds. Who knows times of Hendrick Avercamp are coming back this year. Avercamp was the first Dutch artist to specialize in paintings of winter landscapes featuring people enjoying the ice. Some 400 years on, our image of life in the harsh winters of the Golden Age is still dominated by Avercamp’s ice scenes with their splendid narrative details of couples skating, children pelting each other with snowballs and unwary individuals falling through the ice.

This evening I walk in my neighbourhood in Amsterdam and made some beautiful photos of the snow. The virgin white carpet of snow is crunching under my shoes. I began to remember why I love the winters so much. This time around, the canals remained relatively ice-free and there was lots of snow. Photo of a snowy covered bike with the café Papeneiland (Anno 1642) in the background. The corner where the café is situated is one of the most well known and typical corners of Amsterdam, and there are many drawings and paintings made of this typical Amsterdam view. The cafe itself is a typical example of a cosy and so called ''bruine kroeg''.

In de avond van 11 februari werd Amsterdam bedekt met een laagje verse sneeuw. De sneeuw die viel bedekte de wereld om ons heen wit en prachtig. Ik heb mijn camera gepakt en op pad gegaan in m'n buurtje. Ik geniet van het geluid van knarsende sneeuw onder mijn schoenen en het prachtige gezicht op de Amsterdamse grachtenpanden. Het is min één graden en de grijze sneeuw wolken trekken weg. Mijn handschoenen en m'n sjaal houden mij warm genoeg. Er is iets heel moois over Amsterdam in de winter. De Jordaan is bedolven onder dik pak sneeuw zoals hierboven op de Lekkeresluis naar de Noordermarkt. Het beste advies is dan maar om lekker binnen te blijven en de kachel iets hoger te zetten. Of natuurlijk even naar buiten te gaan om wat mooie plaatjes te schieten. Naast de overlast zorgt de sneeuw ook voor veel plezier bij kinderen hier in de Amsterdamse Jordaan. Sneeuwballen gevecht, sneeuwpoppen maken of sleetje rijden. Allemaal leuke activiteiten die kinderen doen in deze mooie besneeuwde wereld. Wie even wegdenkt kan zich vandaag in Hendrick Avercamps wereld wanen. Als eerste Amsterdamse kunstenaar uit de 17de eeuw specialiseerde hij zich in het schilderen van winterlandschappen met ijspret. Het café 't Papeneiland Anno 1642 is gelegen op de hoek van de Prinsengracht nr 1 en de Brouwersgracht. De hoek waar het café gelegen is, is één van de meest bekende en kenmerkende hoeken van Amsterdam, en er zijn dan ook talloze schilderijen en aquarellen van dit typisch Amsterdamse tafereel. Het café zelf is een typisch voorbeeld van een gezellige authentieke ''bruine kroeg''. This holiday season there's no shortage of festive events going on in Amsterdam. Christmas markets, winter festivals, classical concerts, ice skating, even the circus has come to town. Get amongst the wintry fun. Amsterdammer's love for the word gezellig - meaning: similar to cosy but used in a broader sense - is seen no more fittingly than over the holiday period, when the city's village charm shines in fairy lights, snugs up in warm cafes and bars and brims with silly season spirit. Soak up the Christmas atmosphere while on the hunt for gifts in the charming Jordaan neighbourhood of Amsterdam. The Jordaan is originally a working-class neighbourhood. the Jordaan has become one of the most expensive, upscale locations in the Netherlands. Rembrandt spent the last years of his life in the Jordaan. The Anne Frank House, where Anne Frank went into hiding during World War II, is located on the edge of the Jordaan, on the Prinsengracht canal. The Jordaan had a lively music scene in the 20th century. Several of the most popular musicians now have a statue in their memory at the corner of Prinsengracht and Elandsgracht. The singer Willy Alberti is commemorated with a memorial plaque on the Westerkerk church. The Jordaanfestival, celebrating the neighbourhood's music tradition, is held annually. It has been lovely to walk on those cosy little streets in what it is considered to be the most picturesque part of Amsterdam.

I walk in my neighbourhood and made some photo's of our beautiful canals. The Singel is a canal in Amsterdam which encircled the city in the Middle Ages. It served as a moat around the city until 1585, when Amsterdam expanded beyond the Singel. The canal runs from the IJ bay, near Central Station, to the Muntplein square, where it meets the Amstel river. It is now the inner-most canal in Amsterdam's semicircular ring of canals and on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It's a handheld 28mm shot at 1/30s, F3.5 and 2500 ISO.

De winters mogen in Amsterdam doorgaans misschien koud zijn, in december is de gezelligheid in Amsterdam op vrijwel elke hoek van de straat te vinden. Of het nu in een warme kroeg is of een mooi theater, Amsterdammers zijn in december in voor feestelijke uitstapjes. Zoek de gezelligheid op van de charmante Jordaan, waar je leuke en originele cadeautjes voor de feestdagen kunt vinden. Glühwein en warme chocolademelk zijn dé drankjes van het winterseizoen. Duik gezellig een bruine kroeg in met muziek van tante Leen, Johnny Jordaan en Willy Alberti. De Amsterdamse Jordaan is ongetwijfeld de meest bezongen, beschreven en geromantiseerde stadswijk van Nederland. De Jordaan is met zijn kleine huisjes van oudsher een typische volksbuurt. Er waren veel ambachtslieden en kleine bedrijven gevestigd. Door kleine huisvesting verkozen veel Jordanezen daarom ruimere nieuwbouw aan de rand van Amsterdam. Inmiddels is de buurt helemaal opgeknapt en het is er hip om er te wonen maar wel prijzig. De Westerkerk ligt het hart van Amsterdam aan de rand van de Jordaan. Het is de hoogste kerktoren van Amsterdam, zo'n 87 meter. Het is altijd gezellig om door kleine straatjes te wandelen langs de café's en winkeltjes. De Jordaan wordt beschouwd als de meest pittoreske deel van Amsterdam. Vanaf de Jordaan loop je zo naar het Centraal station via het Singel. Foto van het Singel. The InHolland building in Rotterdam South is a colorful university building with a lot of glass that is designed by Erick van Egeraat. Among other great things, he also designed the prestigious multifunctional new stadium of Dynamo Moscow. The world famous architect is married to a Czech fashion model and leads a very luxurious life where big parties are certainly no exception. In the Netherlands he has even received a royal decoration in 2016 and in Russia he was for many years the most asked foreign architect but in the same year of his royal decoration he also was seriously accused of fraud (4 million) after a dubious bankruptcy. The wildest stories circulate about this and his other dubious bankruptcies, but the clever architect has never been convicted of fraud. In his top years he partied with the most influential people in the world such as movie stars, DJs, top actors, famous fashion models and even presidents and prime ministers of different countries shared a drink with him. As a top architect, he leads the life of a pop star en drives in expensive cars like his golden Porsche Panamera, but that doesn't stop him from creating the most beautiful designs for his prestigious projects. He sometimes makes remarkable statements. For example, he made the statement that the new Feyenoord stadium will certainly be a bad stadium after they had not chosen him as a designer. In short, the brilliant top architect is certainly not a boring man. The Inholland building has a modern look and is truly a work of art to behold. It is also multifunctional with offices, a university and a garage. People who are interested in architecture sometimes look with eyes open at the special design.

Het gebouw van InHolland hoge school in Rotterdam Zuid is een kleurrijk gebouw met veel glas dat is ontworpen door Erick van Egeraat. Hij is net als Rem Koolhaas winnaar van diverse prestigieuze internationale architectprijzen. Zo won Van Egeraat meer dan tien awards. In 2013 won hij bijvoorbeeld de European Property Award. Hij ontworp onder andere ook het prestigieuze multifunctionele nieuwe stadion van Dynamo Moskou. Hij is getrouwd met het Tsjechische fotomodel Tiffany en leidt al jarenlang een zeer luxueus leven waarbij hij graag rondrijdt in zijn goudkleurige Porsche Panamera. In Nederland is hij in 2016 zelfs koninklijk onderscheiden als officier in de Orde van Oranje-Nassau en in Rusland was hij jarenlang de meest gevraagde buitenlandse architect. In hetzelfde jaar van zijn koninklijke onderscheiding werd hij in Rusland daar nog wel even beschuldigd van miljoenenfraude en oplichting door een steenrijke Russische zakenman na een dubieus faillissement. Hij zegt zelf hierover dat de oplichting juist andersom was. Over dit faillissement en zijn andere dubieuze faillissementen doen de wildste verhalen de ronde, maar de slimme architect is nooit veroordeeld voor fraude of oplichting en is inmiddels specialist in het fenomeen doorstart. In zijn toptijd feestte hij samen met de meest invloedrijke mensen ter wereld zoals filmsterren, dj's, topacteurs en bekende fotomodellen. Zelfs captains of industry en bekende politici deden wel eens een drankje met hem. Hij leidt als toparchitect het leven van een popster, maar dat weerhoudt hem er niet van om de meest mooie projecten uit de grond te stampen. Daarbij doet hij soms opmerkelijke uitspraken. Zo deed hij de uitspraak dat het nieuwe Feyenoordstadion zeker een verschrikkelijk stadion wordt nadat ze niet voor hem als ontwerper hadden gekozen. Kortom een saaie man is de geniale toparchitect zeker niet. Het gebouw van Inholland heeft een modern uiterlijk en is echt een kunstwerk om te zien. Het gebouw is bovendien multifunctioneel met een hoge school, garage en bedrijfsruimtes. Mensen die geïnteresseerd zijn in architectuur staan soms met ogen open te kijken naar het bijzondere ontwerp.

Montenegro is a country in Eastern Europe bordering Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, Albania and the Adriatic Sea. It used to be a part of Yugoslavia. The capital is Podgorica. The name Montenegro is Italian and means Black mountain. Montenegro was an independent princedom between 1878 and 1910 and an independent kingdom until 1918. That year Montenegro became part of Yugoslavia. In 2003 Yugoslavia was transformed into the new country of Serbia and Montenegro, but this fell apart in 2006 when both countries went their separate ways. Montenegro is therefore the youngest country in Europe. Montenegro is not a member of the European Union, but it is a member of NATO. Despite the fact that Montenegro is not yet an EU Member State, people do pay with the euro. Montenegro may be small, but this beautiful nation has a huge array of natural and man-made wonders. Once overlooked in favor of more famous Mediterranean countries, Montenegro is quickly gaining a reputation as a great place to travel. It's easy to see why. The mountainous hinterland is home to deep gorges, flowing rivers, glacial lakes and old-growth forests, popular for adventure activities. The winding coast runs along pretty blonde bays overlooking the royal blue Adriatic Sea, ancient Venetian villages and UNESCO-walled towns. Kotor is a fortified town on Montenegro’s Adriatic coast, in a bay near the limestone cliffs of Mt. Lovćen. Characterized by winding streets and squares, its medieval old town has several Romanesque churches, including Kotor Cathedral. Dobrota is basically a residential area of ​​Kotor, starting north of Kotor Old Town and extending for 5 km along the coastline.

Wedged between black mountains and in the last corner of the bay is the attractive town of Kotor. Surrounded by sturdy walls that line the surrounding slopes, the city is a medieval maze of museums, churches, cafe-strewn squares and Venetian palaces. Kotor dates back to the Middle Ages and thanks to its preserved center, it is on the UNESCO list of natural and historical World Heritage Sites. We take a hike along the old city walls to the Castle of San Giovanni / Fortress of Saint John. The Castle of San Giovanni is one of the absolute highlights of Kotor. The path along the old walls is rocky and uneven in parts and there is even a small church. It's almost half way. The church is perched on the slope of the St. John Mountain. The chapel was built by survivors of the plague, in 1518. The oldest building in Montenegro, dating from the 6th century, has been found under this Church. Het bergachtige achterland herbergt diepe kloven, stromende rivieren, gletsjermeren en oerbossen, populair voor avontuurlijke activiteiten. De kronkelige kust loopt langs mooie blonde baaien met uitzicht op de koningsblauwe Adriatische Zee. Ingeklemd tussen zwarte bergen en in de laatste hoek van de baai ligt het sfeervolle stadje Kotor. Omgeven door stevige muren die op de omliggende hellingen liggen, is de stad een middeleeuws doolhof van musea, kerken, met cafés bezaaide pleinen en Venetiaanse paleizen. Kotor dateert uit de middeleeuwen en dankzij het bewaard gebleven centrum staat het op de UNESCO-lijst van natuurlijke en historische werelderfgoedsites. We maken een wandeling langs de oude stadsmuren naar het kasteel van San Giovanni - het fort van Saint John. Het kasteel van San Giovanni is een van de absolute hoogtepunt van Kotor. Het uitzicht over een doolhof van straten en de terracotta daken van de oude stad is ongelooflijk. De enorme cruiseschepen die in Kotor zijn aangemeerd, vallen in het niet bij de omliggende bergen en het geeft je echt een idee van hoe groot en enorm de baai van Kotor is. Het pad langs de oude muren, is in delen rotsachtig en ongelijk en er is zelfs een kleine kerk, de kerk van Onze-Lieve-Vrouw van Remedie op weg naar boven. De kerk staat op de helling van de St. John Mountain. De kapel werd gebouwd door overlevenden van de pest, in 1518. Het oudste gebouw in Montenegro, daterend uit de 6e eeuw is onder deze kerk gevonden. Het is een lange en zware klim, vooral in de hete zon. Rovaniemi is the capital of the province of Lapland in northern Finland. It is best known as the official home of Santa Claus and is located just above the Arctic Circle. Rovaniemi is known worldwide as the home of Santa Claus. The Santa Claus Village is a popular attraction, where visitors have the chance to meet Santa Claus, visit his post office and experience the magic of Christmas all year round. Rovaniemi is located right on the Arctic Circle, meaning it is an excellent location to see the Northern Lights, especially during the winter months. The city also offers unique experiences, such as the opportunity to cross the Arctic Circle. The Arktikum is the science center and museum and provides insight into Arctic nature and culture. It features exhibitions on the history, geology, flora and fauna of the region. Located near Rovaniemi, Ranua Zoo is the northernmost zoo in the world. It is home to a variety of Arctic animals, including polar bears, lynx, reindeer and arctic foxes. Rovaniemi enjoys abundant snow cover during most of the winter. Snowfall usually starts in November and continues until April. This creates a fairytale winter environment. Periods of deep frost are common, with temperatures often dropping to -20°C or even lower. Cold waves with temperatures below -30°C are not uncommon.

Santa Claus village is located in Rovaniemi, Finland is known as the Official Hometown of Santa Claus and offers visitors a magical and festive experience all year round.
