En 1897, l'État met en vente aux enchères ce rocher appelé l'île d'Or. Un habitant de Saint-Raphaël l'achète alors pour 280 francs.
That photo for me is an evidence, that it makes sence to go out for a shoot on putative bad weather too. On the afternoon of that day it was raining extensively and when I started the sky was completely covered with heavy clouds. Close to sunset suddenly many of that clouds were dissipate and provided me with that spectacular play of colours.
Dieses Bild ist für mich ein Beleg, dass es auch bei vermeintlich schlechtem Wetter Sinn macht auf Tour zu gehen. Am Nachmittag dieses Tages hatte es ausgiebig geregnet und als ich startete war der Himmel bedeckt von einer dicken Wolkendecke. Kurz vor Sonnenuntergang lösten sich plötzlich viele der Wolken auf und verschafften mir dieses grandiose Farbenspiel.
A breathtaking view down the cliffs to the shore of the peninsule La Dramont. Only 45 km away are the overcrowded beaches of Cannes, only 37 km away the ones of Saint Tropez and here this unpopulated paradies. I could have spend two weeks here without getting bored. Unfortunately I had only two days. By the way, the colour of the water is not manipulated. When the sun is stang very low, ate the morning and evening, ite getting that cyan shine.
Ein atemberaubender Blick die Klippen hinunter auf die Küste der Halbinsel Le Dramont. Nur 45 km entfernt liegen die überfüllten Strände von Cannes, 37 km die von Saint Tropez und hier dieses menschenleere Paradies. Ich hätte zwei Wochen dort zubringen können und es wäre mir nicht langweilig geworden. Leider hatte ich nur zwei Tage. Die Farbe des Wassers ist übrigend nicht manipuliert. Wenn morgens oder abends die Sonne sehr tief steht bekommt es dieses türkiesen Schein.

Before I could attend to the sunset what will happen in the complete opposite direction, I had to capture that terrific view at the ruttet coastline of Le Dramont. Its impressive to see how the colours of the rocks are changing when the light in does.
Bevor ich mich dem Sonnenuntergang widmen konnte, der sich in der komplett anderen Richtung abspielt, musste ich erst noch diesen grandiosen Blick auf die zerklüftete Küste von Le Dramont festhalten. Es ist beeindruckend zu sehen wie die der Felsen sich verändern, wenn sich das Licht verändert.

It is unusual that I post so many photos from one subject but on these two evenings at that place I saw so unbelievable many different faces of this landscape that I have to show that. So there are still some more versions to come.

An unexpected shot. At the end of my sunset session at the coast of Le Dramont I already was on my way back. But when I turned around the full moon just came out from behind a cloud. I had to capture that view and so it made my evening a little bit longer.
Eine unerwartete Aufnahme. Am Ende meiner Sonnenuntergang Session an der Küste von Le Dramont hatte ich mich schon auf den Weg zurück gemacht. Doch als ich mich nochmal umdrehte tauchte gerade der Vollmond hinter einer Wolke auf. Den Anblick musste ich festhalten, was meinen Abend noch etwas verlängert hat.
