dramatic lighting 101 practice

Scene Breakdown: This picture was originally part of a larger picture that was cropped. The original was actually a mistake because it catch my father in an awkward pose with his mouth.

To remedy this shot I brought the focus to Odie and tried to make the image look like it was an adult carrying a child away from some dramatic event. I think the position of the hands on Odie and my father's mouth being open took steps closer to this being possible. The hand position indicates one of protection.

The background is a slight distraction but because of its neutral colors, doesn't hurt the picture too much.

This image has been modified to make it look more dramatic, ramping up the saturation of the reds and yellows, and increasing the contrast considerably.
