Lisse.....Bollenstreek.....The Netherlands

Belonging to the Devils Creek waterstream and the Columbia River watershead, this seasonally massive tiered-plunged waterfall knows how to capture one's very own eye, heart, and soul while traversing through this historically and geologically special region of Eastern Washington. Maxing out at a height of a little over 400 feet, this majestic gem feeds Banks Lake with the mysterious beauty of Steamboat Rock nearby.

This breathtaking landscape showcases the majestic Zion National Park, Utah, USA. The vibrant red rock formations, sculpted by time and erosion, stand tall against a dramatic sky. The golden light of the setting sun, piercing through the storm clouds, casts a warm glow on the rugged terrain.

Seen from my garden. The sky looked very dramatic, so I had to get hold of my camera in a hurry!

This shot was taken after sunset at Unnichai, Batticaloa

I shot this near the one of the only Carlsburg factories in England, near a local stream, I thought the water would give a of a really beautiful reflection of the sun.

About this photo:

Although it may look like HDR, this photo was edited with other processing techniques to reveal the details (it isn't HDR). The "over-processed" look comes from a combination of high pass and black & white overlays. The portion of the image seen through the windows has not had the overlays applied, and so it retains its more natural color and contrast.

About the Location:

The earth is really that orange. This photo is from the Chania prefecture in Crete. The soil is mostly red clay that contrasts dramatically with the blue Mediterranean sea.

The structure you see here is an old hospital that was built during WWII. The hospital and its many buildings were abandoned long ago and are now eroding quickly. This particular building is missing a roof and a wall.

George Frideric Handel's Sarabande was one of the music played during the animated exhibition, so here you may wish to listen for a few moments of the same piece to get a similar experience (do a right click and "open link in new tab" so as to stay on the image here):

The curtain is actually the exit of the Immersive Van Gogh exhibition. The departing visitors fit in the projected animation quite perfectly here!

I took a vacation day off for a medical appointment, after which I decided to visit the Toronto production of the Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit, which is an animated wall-to-wall-to-wall-to-floor projection of Vincent van Gogh's paintings in a large industrial-sized space, accompanied by dramatic soundtracks, music and songs by well-known composers.

Vincent van Gogh is known for:

- his rendition of post-impressionism

- painting sunflowers

- for being Dutch

- his deteriorating mental state including depression

- having cut off one of his ears

- for eventually committing suicide
