electro_cute: Wow!
buylesshit: This is wonderful
Mint aioli, crispy garlic & shallot, fresh lemon juice + pecorino ($14)
The mint aioli was pretty awesome in this dish. It tasted as bright and fresh like how a mojito refreshes on a hot summer day.
Rhubarb jam + vanilla cream ($9)
A dense, cool, syrup soaked, 5-layer cake. Nice balance of moist cake with tight crumb, slicks of fresh cream and a smooth jam layer - almost a gel, but not that sweet. Great, not too sweet flavours.
roasted chanterelle & Hen of the Woods mushrooms, pea shoot seedlings + grainy mustard sauce ($33)
Hearty, and tasty. Love the punch of mint in this as well. Also chanterelle (which I swear I heard our lovely server say Chantelle. So cute) and hen of the woods mushrooms next to a moist and tender knuckle of lamb shank. :)
grilled corn & crab panzanella salad + wild leek chimichurri ($30)
Great sear on the pickerel's skin; fantastic olive oil drenched crispy shards of torn croutons for the panzanella salad.
fresh basil, whipped goat cheese, "Devonshire Crunch" + strawberry vinaigrette ($16)
I like crunchy things. So the crunch part of this dish made things fun. Also, could this be considered a fruit salad (given that both tomatoes and strawberries are fruits), and with the addition of "whipped" goat cream (well cheese), etc, like a parfait?
Either way, a very different and palate refreshing combination and a sincere ode to the fresh tastes of summer.
