Used fabric from an old cushion cover, and the filling from an old cushion to make this. No more cold drafts in the living room now!
May 15, 2019 - "The complex of buildings at Hillside includes spaces from across Wright’s career as a designer: the “abstract forest” drafting studio (1939), the Hillside Assembly Hall (1903), the Hillside Theater (1955), and the Fellowship dining hall (1955). Hillside is home to the School of Architecture at Taliesin, and students in residence here from mid-May through mid-October may be seen at work in the studio. The Assembly Hall is an example of Wright’s strides to “destroy the box” of traditional architectural design. The Hillside Theater includes a theater curtain, that was adapted from a Wright-designed geometric abstraction of the Taliesin landscape." Biberacher Schützenfest 2010
(pictures from the so-called "Lagerleben" after parade, where people and horses relax, eat and are watched by the Biberachers)
This is the third idea and first round draft for the ISCAID website. ISCAID stands for "International Society for Companion Animal Infectious Diseases" There are two parts to the site. A public facing side and a doctors and members side. This design is for the public facing side. The design is based on the "Coldstone" theme and If chosen, I will likely purchase it to make my modifications for implementation.
Original Fact:
Estimated number of houses built or repaired in Haiti since the January 2010 earthquake: 18,632
Of Haitians still living in displacement camps: 515,000

Rationale:
I used a ‘brick wall’ as a representation of the houses that needs to be built in Haiti. From the original fact, I narrowed the details down to easily compare the ratio of houses needed. Assuming there is an average of about 4 people in each household, they need approximately 130k more houses for the 515k that are still living in displacement camps. I reworded the fact for a better flow on my design.
The proportion of houses built/to be built is expressed through the colours of the brick wall. The rest of the brick wall is faded out, implying that it ‘needs to be done’ and on the bottom-right corner has the stronger, more detailed colour, showing that it is ‘already done/fixed’.
The dark background and fonts that are chosen as the fact portrays a serious situation. I avoided adding too much styling on the fonts – and only applied it to the words and numbers that need emphasis.
