Downside Motors, Chilcompton, Somerset, BA3 4EX, was a small Vauxhall retail dealer for many decades, founded in 1982. It lost the franchise in, I think, 2018 0r 2019, as Vauxhall sought to close up to a third of it dealers. These photos were taken soon after this, as it began a short period as a used Vauxhall specialist, before the garage closed completely. The site is now empty.
Downside of shooting with low depth-of-field on a snowy day: I'm not sure you can even tell he's in a snow field.
Rode with all three of the Babbels today at this really fun bank in San Marcos. This is Eric Babbel, the third brother that I don't ride with nearly as much as Mikey and Bryan.

The downside of French Guiana is that they were always burning things - rubbish or rain forest. You can see it from miles away and the soot falls all over the boats.
Detail from another stained glass window at Downside Abbey in Stratton-on-the-Fosse, Somerset, England, showing a priest's robes; robes of glass.

Artery was harvested from here.
Veins are more commonly used, but my surgeon prefers to use arteries as they last longer ;-)
He also prefers to use from the arm rather than the leg, which not only gives me a readily available 'war wound' to show off......but means recovery/movement is more quickly achieved :-)
Downside.....I feel I now need to get a tattoo on that wrist stating: "In the event of unconsciousness, please check other arm for pulse before closing any lids on patient", as I no longer have a pulse in that one :-o
One of the downsides of Andrew running off to the Biodynamic conference in LA this weekend was the removal of our electric kettle. We have been forced to resourcefulness, tearing apart the weekend set up for the propane and stove.
It's been sunny but cold the last couple of days, so we're having to stay out in the sun of the warehouse as much as possible to keep off the chill. Sallee, our bookkeeper, was sitting against the wall, trying to build up the energy to go back in the office.
"Coffee?" I asked.
"YES!" she moaned from her spot by the wall.
It took a bit, and the grinder was mis-set, but this batch of the Nic CoE was quite delicious, and warm. I drank almost the entire pot myself.
the downside to procrastinating on scavenger hunt items is that one gets close to the deadline and the shot you hoped to get requires a person, some time, and sunny weather, so you settle for a through the windshield shot as you get iced coffee.

The Nissan GTR got a facelift in 2015, including these beautiful LED headlights. One downside to this was the amount of bright chrome stuffed inside these units due to the lack of the dark chrome finish found on the earlier headlights. The other downside is the lower powered little LEDs powering the "Bolts". With only 2 LEDs per Bolt, the design on these headlights just isn't what owners want, when they enviously watch newer factory cars like the Jaguar XF, Corvette C7, or any of the Audi line up.
To help the situation, we have installed a more capable set of LEDs and 800mA drivers to push the Bolts to a brighter, better color White, which is also available in other colors now. We hooked up the running lights to a remote control strobe system for this video, but it normally functions as a simple On / Off running light.
The most important change here is the finish of the parts. Everything has been fully stripped down to components to bring some personality to these headlights. Each of the 4 internal pieces per headlight was remove, prepped and professionally painted using the same paint and quality, as would be done on a Hood, Bumper, or Fender. This Gunmetal paint (code KAD), was chosen by the customer to match the body color of his GTR.

O Hofbräuhaus am Platzl é a mais famosa cervejaria do mundo localizada no centro de Munique na Alemanha.

Orphan Works Act
If you don’t register every photo and work of art in government certified private databases, you are about to give the legal right for anyone to infringe on your copyright.
“The Orphan Works Act of 2008”, (H.R. 5889) and the “Shawn Bentley Orphan Works Act of 2008” (S.2913), were released to the House of Representatives and the Senate recently. While at first glance the law seems to be a ‘last resort’ for a search for the owner of any photograph, artwork or sculpture, the devil, as they say, is in the details.
An “orphan”, as it relates to this legislation, is an original creative work such as a photograph, graphic image, or sculpture, which is still protected by its term of copyright, but the copyright holder can’t be found. Actually, this bill makes it easy for searchers to pretend it’s hard not to find copyright holders!
REGISTRIES WILL REMOVE YOUR COPYRIGHT PROTECTION!
CONTACT YOUR LEGISLATOR:
Go to www.usa.gov/Contact/Elected.shtml to quickly find the phone number, address, e-mail of every U.S. Senator, U.S. Representative, Governor and State Legislator. Please be polite. Threats only work against us artists. We need to make a professional impression to be taken seriously.
Make yourself be heard. Protect your creations. Every voice counts and so does your right to control your own creations. YOU NEED TO WRITE LETTERS NOW!
We only have a few days to make ourselves heard, as the Senate and House will only allow a short time for comments. Call them, send e-mails and fax letters.
excerpts from www.sellyourtvconceptnow.com/orphan.html
Please read up on this, become informed and based on that decision: NOTIFY YOUR CONGRESSMEN of your opinion!!!! You can tell them how you want them to vote! If enough people speak out against this, we are sure to make a difference! MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!
This affects EVERYONE, not just professional photographers (I'm not one). You could lose copyright to your own personal snapshots as well.
[SEE PREVIOUS TWO ENTRIES FOR VARIATIONS OF CLIFTON PLATES]
Style: Armorial
ExLibris: Semper paratus (Always Ready)
This bookplate has some interesting similarities to the Clifford bookplates (see previous uploads) suggesting perhaps that this anonymous Clifton is a descendant or a branch of the original Clifford family. This connection can be speculated on due to the; matching ExLibris both Semper Paratus meaning always ready) the similar chequy Or and Azure background across the field of the bookplate and the fesse gules.
There is no certain individual that this book plate belongs too due to the lack of information provided by Parsons, the only note in his own hand is simply ‘clifton’. One individual who the bookplate could belong to is Sir Clifford Clifton, the eldest son of Sir Gervase Clifton, 1st baronet and his second wife Lady Frances Clifford. Clifford did have an elder half-brother; Gervase, but he was disinherited from the family estates in the 1650s in favour of Clifford.
Following his service as commissioner for the Militia in Nottingham Clifford was Knighted in 1661. This was the same year he served as M.P for East Retford for the second and last time as he died in 1670, passing on his estates to his son WIlliam. William was one of only three children, the other two were girls, of Clifford and Frances, daughter of Sir Heneage Finch, Recorder of London and Speaker of the House of Common, who survived past infancy.
