Not a pleasant welcome to the hills around San Quirico d’Orcia, wich are so typical of Tuscany. Packed in our downjackets and hats, we fought our way up this often-photographed hill against the wind. But found all the more drama with these bended cypresses. Black and white seemed like the right processing to me.

Maybe more than my boring you with random things about me, I can't believe I posted two selfies in one week. We are ready to go out... it's snowing like you wouldn't believe.
My house is clean and decorated, but the lights are still not up in the courtyard... the Mr. is going to have to shovel his way out the door to do it. (Really, really hoping it still happens, maybe some pressure on your part would help... :D) It's not really necessary, it's not something you see from the street, but I like to see it from my kitchen and office window (which means sometimes they stay up way too long.)

Yes, I am bundled up like a snowman and the hat is very warm and very, very old. The Mr. bought it for me eons ago... not to worry, it's not my little raccoon friends

I found this coat lying on a muddy grass verge at the side of a country lane. It was 3/4 burried in the ground and took some digging to free it without damage. In one of the pockets was a bunch of about 35 keys with numbered tags for each key and a 'call this phone number if found' tag. There was also a plastic money bag containing 2 twenty pound notes and some change as well as a driving licence and some club cards. I figured the coat must have fallen out of a passing vehicle.
I decided to call the number and asked for the owners name on the driving licence. She answered and was very happy about the keys and the money. She had no idea how the coat got there, she explained that she is a landlady and the keys were for some of her properties. In February she was helping her husband clear one of the properties, they took a van load of junk to landfill where she remembers taking off the coat and discarding it without checking the pockets first. So how the coat ended up where I found it was a mystery. Anyway, she told me to keep the money and send on the keys and cards. I did ask her if she wanted the coat but as expected she told me to dispose of it. It's a huge coat, it cleaned up perfectly well but really is worn out.
Was worn by a homeless girl. I watch her pick through some clothes left outside a clothing bank. She found a new coat and further down the road threw this down jacket at the side of the road.

Piove e fa ancora freddo, la neve ha imbiancato le cime dei monti....Aprile è agli sgoccioli e sembra non voglia rassegnarsi al caldo che ormai è alle porte...oggi all'aperto ci sono 13 gradi ma ieri si poteva passeggiare in maniche corte.
Fortunamente questo piumino dell'amico Maurizio ha il colore addatto per il concorso di "Macro Mondays"...un bellissimo blu intenso !!!

LAST COLD DAYS
It's raining and it's still cold, the snow has whitened the tops of the mountains....April is winding down and it seems it doesn't want to resign itself to the heat that is just around the corner...today it's 13 degrees outdoors but yesterday it was possible to walk in short sleeves.
Luckily this duvet by my friend Maurizio has the right color for the "Macro Mondays" competition...a beautiful intense blue !!!
