This shot shows one of the Bombardier double decker trains entering Ringsted in Denmark. Class EB Siemans Vectron locomotive is providing the power. These locomotives work in a push pull configuration and operate all of the double decker trains in Denmark. This is a Næstved to Helsingør service with locomotive 3218 providing the power. This version of the locomotive is the AC version with Bo Bo wheel arrangement. She is capable of running at 125mph and has 8700hp available although speaking to one of her drivers they struggle to use that power due to the lightness of the loco combined with the Bo Bo bogies..
I love photography in Denmark especially when the sun is out. It is one of those areas where the light is just a little bit different from other areas.
The Romanian line from Urziceni to Făurei north-east of Bucharest was closed in December 2016 for passenger services. In September 2013, we were lucky to spot a Görlitz double-decker unit hauled by CFR 60.
Buses nowadays appear to have much better paint jobs than some years ago. They try to get them looking bright, colourful and modern. This Double-Decker in Sheffield uses the original three colours that Sheffield buses had fifty years ago - dark blue, lighter blue and cream. Done quite well, I think. Many come with WiFi and charging points - very useful!
Here’s a classic AEC Regent III double-decker, rolling down London’s Route 19 for a heritage running day, bringing back the good ol’ days!
Passengers are hopping on with grins, reliving a bygone era when a cheery conductor took your cash fare, and the only thing greener than the bus was the nostalgia—let’s just skip the emissions chat!

The inspiration for this photo was one of the tutorials by Serge Ramelli. I took from tripod 12 shoots in about 10 seconds intervals - this allowed me to 'erase' all people from the shoot by working on all photos as layers in CS5. Final processing in Lightroom 5.
And the cherry on top of the cake was this red, unusual for Coventry Doubledecker :)

Oh, look at this fine feathered scene on Dublin's Camden Street! The number 15 bus, proudly crisscrossing the city from Ballycullen Road to the heart of the action, has parked itself right outside Camden Rotisserie—where the chickens are clearly plotting their escape! With its green and yellow glory, this double-decker is the unsung hero of Dublin’s streets, dodging traffic and delivering passengers past every Centra in sight. Maybe the bus driver’s secret plan is to grab a chicken sandwich mid-route!
Speaking of routes, the 15 bus knows Dublin like the back of its hand—or should we say, wing? It weaves past Camden’s clucking hotspots, zips by Centra for a quick snack break, and keeps the city’s chicken-obsessed commuters on schedule. Rumor has it, the chickens at Camden Rotisserie have a special signal for the bus to slow down—just in case they need a lift out of town! Next stop: freedom, or at least a detour to the next Centra!
And let’s not forget the Centra shop, standing tall beside this poultry pandemonium. While the 15 bus rolls on, it’s the perfect pit stop for anyone who’s peckish after a wild ride. With Camden chickens on one side and a convenience store on the other, this street corner is the ultimate Dublin mashup—where buses, birds, and buns collide in hilarious harmony!

Stagecoach 18151 (PX04 DPE) a Transbus Trident, is seen along Christchurch Drive. Daventry, operating a D2 service. Sunday is the only day of the week the D2 operates along here, and Sunday is the only day it can throw a Double Decker, as it is operates between Daventry and Northampton only, whereas on other days, it operates between Rugby and Northampton, and there are then low bridges to contend with!

Just 2 days later, the street lighting here was in the process of being replaced, and the roundabout was littered with traffic cones which thwarted a similar shot of 16694!

Another shot of Hunters Volvo Olympian P689 JBD for the collection, seen descending Royal Oak Way on the 4th of October 2016. I was actually waiting for another bus, but it would have been very rude not to photograph this, even if I do have similar shots from this spot.
