I couldn't resist uploading a photo (or two) and also trying to catch up with your beautiful pictures that I have missed.

Wish you all a wonderful time.

Macro Mondays wanted plastic

I have lots of plastic in my childrens corner, in my living room

So here is a photo of two of her mini toy cars stacked

She saw a double decker on TV and wanted to make one

Happy Macro Monday you all

Hobart is the capital and most populous city of the Australian island state of Tasmania. With a population of approximately 240,342 (over 45% of Tasmania's population), it is the least populated Australian state capital city, and second smallest if territories are taken into account (after Darwin, Northern Territory). The city is located in the state's south-east on the estuary of the River Derwent, making it the most southern of Australia's capital cities. Its skyline is dominated by the 1,271-metre Mount Wellington, and its harbour forms the second-deepest natural port in the world, with much of the city's waterfront consisting of reclaimed land. The metropolitan area is often referred to as Greater Hobart, to differentiate it from the City of Hobart, one of the five local government areas that cover the city. Founded in 1804 as a British penal colony, Hobart is Australia's second oldest capital city after Sydney, New South Wales. 30931

Just outside of Paris ON this double decker sits at a sign shop.

It has been there for some time.

Think it looks cool.

This is an exception, because the previous photos from the set showed different types of the locomotives each. And here the SU45 is repeated, so let the exception be doubled and it is analog photography. Well, actually triple - because doubledecker has the livery called "scrambled eggs", unlike the previous pictures.

To będzie wyjątek, bowiem poprzednie fotki z setu przerdstawiały każde inny typ lokomotywy, a tu SU45 się powtarza, więc zrobimy podwójny wyjątek i będzie analog. No, potrójny - bo "bipa" w wersji "jajecznica".

...So why should I feel sorry

If they just couldn't understand

The idiomatic logic

That went on in my head

I had a brain

It was insane

Oh they used to laugh at me

When I refused to ride

On all those double decker buses

All because there was no driver on the top.

I decided to revisit this shot. Reprocessed it and got much better results from first merging it in CS3, then tonemapping and then back to CS3 for some finishing touches. Here is what I originally wrote when I first posted...

So, I haven't posted in a long time and the reason for that has been that I haven't been shooting very much over the last few weeks, I have just been too busy with my research, but I had a little inspiration last night. The sun looked like fire in the sky so I took a detour on my way to dinner and found the remnants of my favorite bus graveyard after it burned to the ground last week on the flame of a crackhead's torch. I got too cocky though, and shot 5 exp without a tripod and the light was just a little too low to handle the +4. I still think they turned out pretty great, especially for a 10 min shoot (had to get to dinner), but next time i'll take the extra time and grab the t-pod...

Contact me if you're interested in my shots (no digital version requests).

Shenanigans in Shangan, 10 years ago, a look back at former Dublin Bus route 221, perhaps the shortest ever route & shortest ever operating route.

Introduced in Ballymun to compensate connections at Silloge & Shangan estates following the merger of routes 13 & 51 to a new super cross city route which changed routing.

Short hop route 221, was operated by Harristown Garage, usually an ALX400 class every 30 minutes on a Monday to Saturday timetable from 10.00 to 14.30 hrs, launching 3rd October 2011 & finishing up on 5th May 2012 ( above ).

SU45-145 with regional passeneger train no. 58833 from Tczew to Chojnice, departs from Czersk station. The number indicates a longer service to Szczecinek or Piła, apparently shortened here to Chojnice. And here we have doubledecker set also shortened to 3 sections. October 16, 2004.

SU45-145 z regionalnym pociągiem osobowym nr 58833 z Tczewa do Chojnic, odjeżdża z Czerska. Numer sugeruje relację gdzieś w ex-Pomorską DOKP (Szczecinek lub Piła), najwyraźniej z jakiegoś powodu handlowo skróconą. A zestaw piętrowy jest tu też skrócony o jeden środkowy człon, do sumarycznie trzech. 16 października 2004 r.

---amazing how turtles will sit like this :)

In the water, you can see a turtle that swam up and 'conversed' with the 'bottom' turtle for a moment or 2. You could tell that they were communicating, and I had to wonder how---- and what they were saying...

I figured that the turtle in the water wanted to join the stack, and the bottom turtle told him it just wouldn't work this time... :)

(or maybe it was saying to dump the one on top and join him/her in a swim..... :)

The top turtle was actually 'dumped' a few minutes later....

worth a look in large :)

Buses nowadays appear to have much better paint jobs than some years ago. They try to get them looking bright, colourful and modern. This Double-Decker in Sheffield uses the original three colours that Sheffield buses had fifty years ago - dark blue, lighter blue and cream. Done quite well, I think. Many come with WiFi and charging points - very useful!

A B type Bus reposes in the London Transport Museum.

Here’s a classic AEC Regent III double-decker, rolling down London’s Route 19 for a heritage running day, bringing back the good ol’ days!

Passengers are hopping on with grins, reliving a bygone era when a cheery conductor took your cash fare, and the only thing greener than the bus was the nostalgia—let’s just skip the emissions chat!

The inspiration for this photo was one of the tutorials by Serge Ramelli. I took from tripod 12 shoots in about 10 seconds intervals - this allowed me to 'erase' all people from the shoot by working on all photos as layers in CS5. Final processing in Lightroom 5.

And the cherry on top of the cake was this red, unusual for Coventry Doubledecker :)

THX 646S was numerically the last of London Transport's batch of DMS class Daimler/Leyland Fleetlines and was originally DM2646. It's now preserved by Ensign as seen here at Gravesend. It has a Leyland Chassis and a Park Royal body.
