Next the paper guide trough is fitted to the right hand side plate.
The printer operates by a vertical hammer on the carriage hitting the paper/ribbon against a ridged platen roller. A dot is produced where the hammer intersects with the platen ridge. In front of the mechanism here is the special ridged platen.
