It started with Halloween Ghost Dots and now we get this.

I ran my trap on Thursday night here in Stevenage and was rewarded by a year first Dotted Border and two other moths, a Spring Usher and Pale Brindled Beauty, during quite mild conditions initially and then it got cold and misty.

Last night I ran the same Actinic trap again and was pleased to see a few more moths, 3 again! singles of Pale Brindled Beauty, Chestnut (The only moth in the trap for some weeks now) and a really smart looking Acleris notana/ferrugana.

Acleris notana/ferrugana are fairly regular in my garden from late August until April and come in a few forms, this being my favourite.

I get both the Birch and Oak feeders here from previous dissections, so I tend to lump them together now for the yearly tally.

The next few nights could still be worth switching on here with minimums of around 6c.

Garden species count for 2020 now upto 10.

My Face is My Canvas- Emullation Challenge #92

It was pretty fun to do this one.

Today is my Dad's birthday! And once it's also St. John's Day (Dia de São João) we'll have a Festa Junina (google it!). Loooots of food, yey!

And btw, I had a piercing done! It's been a week now, my parents didn't like so much, but I'm happy :)

Dot's having a rough day. It's been storming pretty much steadily since this morning. Also, I think Ann Arbor is about to become the new Atlantis.

This was an art exibit at the Kenidy Center

Finally delivered their wedding photographs tonight. I hope I have given them a decent record of their special day. I learnt a lot that day and I was so grateful for the opportunity to be their photographer. At times I made mistakes or struggled to understand why the exposure wasn't quite correct (lots of whites and blacks in suits/dresses together with sunshine/clouds and using flash); sometimes the lens wasn't as good as I hoped; sometimes it came together and I captured a moment and it didn't matter if the shot wasn't technically perfect. It was a great day all in all and I don't why I thought I would instantly be a great wedding photographer when it was only my second attempt at it but I suppose I did think I would be good at it. Truth is, there is so much to be in control of - not only the camera and all of the technical stuff, but the poses, the clothes, hair, expressions, making sure all the important people/events were taken, and so on. Dot and Dave put no pressure on me at all, I did all that myself! Anyway, I'll put a few on here and see what you think.

I filled up an Ikea utensil holder with these LED light balls that gradually change color every few seconds. I thought the color combination turned out pretty cool.

Trabajos de Prevención de Incendios Forestales de ADIF realizados por Regeneracio Forestal S.L. Se trata de trabajos de desbroce realizados por personal de REFOR S.L. bajo la supervisión de los Técnicos, recursos preventivos y Pilotos de Seguridad de la misma dotados de motodesbrozadoras montadas con disco de trituración forestal, motopertigas y motosierras, en las tareas de creación de una franja de seguridad a ambos lados de la vía del ferrocarril para que esta ejerza como franja de seguridad contra incendios forestales en las vías de ADIF, estas franjas tienen una doble misión, por una parte evitar que se produzcan incendios en las inmediaciones de la vía tanto por actividades ferroviarias como ajenas a las mismas y por otra parte actúa como cortafuegos evitando que en caso de que este se produzca, se pueda propagar o ayudando a que se extinga al llegar a estas zonas limpias de vegetación. También se tiene un especial cuidado durante la ejecución de los trabajos el desbroce y limpieza de Los cauces a su paso bajo la estructura, cunetas y pasos de agua de la vía, para facilitar el paso de las aguas fluviales y evitar que esta quede apantanada por la vegetación produciendo daños a la infraestructura de la vía. Estos trabajos se realizaron en la Línea Aicante – El Regueron (Murcia), Trayecto San Gabriel - Torrellano .

From the 2006 Mardi PAWS parade in Gretna, Louisiana, a dog-friendly event where every pooch ends up potted--er--spotted! These two little Chihuahuas sport a Twister theme of colored polka dots done with washable paint.
