Moleskins are there just to have fun doing something creative, doodling sketching, pasting etc. So that's exactly what I did here. On the left page you see the result of me being in the wrong session at SXSWi this year. I thought it would be wise to join a session about AJAX, but it wasn't aimed to beginners or designers. I couldn't follow really and I started to doodle a bit instead. I was thinking about SXSWi, to me this is like Geekstock :) Later on I colored it like a kid would with crayons and pencils and I added tons of Letraset transfer letters.
The right page shows a collage of teared paper and some doodling on top and on the open spots. I doodle while waiting, while on the phone etc. This is the result. One confession though: I decided to go for a paper collage, because I messed up the sketch on that page.
This is what happens when you finish doing inventory and everybody else is still doing it. Then the computer goes down.
I will hold the candle till it burns up my arm.
I'll keep taking punches until their will grows tired.
I will stare the sun down until my eyes go blind.
I won't change direction and I won't change my mind...
How much difference does it make?

Some little mech doodles from my sketchbook. I thought I'd share them for building inspiration.
These were done with a felt tip pen and markers. Each one is about 1.5" to 2" square.

Made for Project Quilting, Season 4, Challenge 2.
Kim challenged me to complete this challenge this week. I dream up these challenges...I don't usually do them. So I was at the Wisconsin Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Conference on Monday and Tuesday and found myself doodling. I decided this was a quilt that needed to be made, so I came home and drew it bigger on a piece of freezer paper. After raiding my stash, I decided I needed more teal fabrics, particularly in medium and lighter shades, so I pulled out some of my green scraps and over-dyed them. I used paper piecing, straight and curved piecing and applique to complete the top then added free motion quilting.
Finished size is 18" x 24".

The Itch
I felt something tickling
When I walked across the rocks
It got so bloomin’ itchy
That I had to shed me socks
I couldn’t see no creature there
(My grammar’s rather poor)
I’ve looked up and down me trousers
And I’ve looked around the floor
Perhaps I was imagining
Perhaps there’s nothing there
Perhaps I’ll put me socks back on
‘fore people start to stare
I probably will never find
What caused itching to my toe
‘Tis one of life’s strange mysteries
I guess I’ll never know….

I was playing with my new Copic Multiliner pen and this doodle just sort of popped out. I love the flow of the ink from the tip of this pen. I feel like I'm the one in control and not the pen. Like I said this is just a doodle. I'm working on getting back to drawing something everyday. School's out and I'll be off for a few weeks in just 1 week!! Yeah!

I've always meant to take a picture of Doodle and I.
Some people say we look alike, but we don't see the resemblance... ;)
Doodled around in illustrator today and then slapped everything together. Not sure how comfortable I am with how Tesco-ish it looks. It wasn't my intention at all.

I'm trying to doodle for a bit every day. I find it very good for working and stretching out ideas. Then there is the added bonus that it's very relaxing.
As I am at home for the next few days, I really should do something creative. This is a quick doodle I did with a ball point pen and my watercolour pencils!
