... for years I was fascinated by the odd juxtaposition of this church and abandoned laundromat, as I walk past it almost everyday. I did take various shots but had many more ideas for shooting it, when one fine day, I was startled to see that it had been ripped down for new construction (the church is still there) ... they should really put up a sign weeks before ripping things down!

Without hesitation, I decided to join this excursion tour at the port of Skagway during my Alaska cruise, when I saw its title “Skagway in Focus - Guided Photography Adventure”, hoping to explore some of the strategic photographic “adventure” spots which otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to visit on my own within the few hours’ stay at the stop-over port. I wasn’t disappointed:-)

my to-do list for breakfast. know what you need to do and try not to waste time before starting (i know i'm guilty of this all to often!) i probably should have used something else then yogurt cause you can't really see it now :( but it's part of my breakfast :| oh and i don't eat my bread plane, nor with bananas or yogurt, but the stuff i tried didn't work to well today. besides i needed to go buy chocolate sprinkles hence the groceries note :D

Let's get the word out and remind all our family and friends to get our checkups and mammograms. Early detection is the BEST prevention.
This was a flat mole that started to develop a black area in the lower corner and started to elevate. I watched it for a while and then became concerned. Father died of Melanoma when he was 48. Because of him I knew to get mine checked early. I had this removed and it WAS melanoma. :( Then I had to get more excised and a skin graft to cover. Now I'm 4 years NED! Yahoo!! I like to show this to let other people know it might not look that bad but could still be cancer!

It's been a tough week. The son of one of my dearest friends was killed in Iraq last Monday. And then we lost Joel yesterday.
I was able to get away over the weekend to Lake Geneva with the girls who I work with at the doctor's office. One of the girls is retiring and moving out to California and we had had this weekend planned as a going away party for her. It was good to spend time with good friends. Things can change in an instant, so I appreciate these moments, these times. And I took my time on the drive back to take some pictures, stop in a couple of antique shops and just roam a little.
It was good to have that time over the weekend to get centered before the wake and funeral for Mikey, and the memorial service for Joel this week.
Enjoy life. Don't wait.

First clone!! not the best but I'm proud of the result!
I should have video tapped me trying to do this- like transforming into a guy in .2 seconds I couldn't make my shutter release longer but I love how the left is faded as if they're already gone.
