... for years I was fascinated by the odd juxtaposition of this church and abandoned laundromat, as I walk past it almost everyday. I did take various shots but had many more ideas for shooting it, when one fine day, I was startled to see that it had been ripped down for new construction (the church is still there) ... they should really put up a sign weeks before ripping things down!

Without hesitation, I decided to join this excursion tour at the port of Skagway during my Alaska cruise, when I saw its title “Skagway in Focus - Guided Photography Adventure”, hoping to explore some of the strategic photographic “adventure” spots which otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to visit on my own within the few hours’ stay at the stop-over port. I wasn’t disappointed:-)

This was a flat mole that started to develop a black area in the lower corner and started to elevate. I watched it for a while and then became concerned. Father died of Melanoma when he was 48. Because of him I knew to get mine checked early. I had this removed and it WAS melanoma. :( Then I had to get more excised and a skin graft to cover. Now I'm 4 years NED! Yahoo!! I like to show this to let other people know it might not look that bad but could still be cancer!

I should have video tapped me trying to do this- like transforming into a guy in .2 seconds I couldn't make my shutter release longer but I love how the left is faded as if they're already gone.
