I went to every edition of RiR (Rock in Rio) in Brazil. This is the 22nd edition, the ninth in Brazil, Rock in Rio is an indisputable success.

The latest edition is the 22nd of the festival. Of these, nine were held in Rio (1985, 1991, 2001, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2022) and 13 abroad. Lisbon hosted nine editions (2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2022); Madrid, three (2008, 2010 and 2012) and Las Vegas, one (2015). Over 123 days, 2,400 artists took turns for an audience of 10.4 million people.

I love music.

PS. I was not crazy at that moment.

PS. 1 I got the next one in 2024.

"...I'm gonna have myself a real good time

I feel alive and the world turning inside out Yeah!

And floating around in ecstasy

So don't stop me now don't stop me

'Cause I'm having a good time having a good time...

...I'm a shooting star leaping through the sky

Like a tiger defying the laws of gravity

I'm a racing car passing by like Lady Godiva

I'm gonna go go go

There's no stopping me...

I placed each grey circle individually on a black background. Several days of work (Making, detail and other portraits below). I'm now working on my next portrait: Marilyn Monroe.

Freddie Mercury (born Farrokh Bulsara) was a British musician, best known as the lead vocalist and a songwriter of the rock band Queen. As a performer, he was known for his flamboyant stage persona and powerful vocals over a four-octave range. As a songwriter, Mercury composed many hits for Queen, including "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Killer Queen", "Somebody to Love", "Don't Stop Me Now", "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and "We Are the Champions". In addition to his work with Queen, he led a solo career, penning hits such as "Barcelona", "I Was Born to Love You" and "Living on My Own". Mercury also occasionally served as a producer and guest musician (piano or vocals) for other artists.

All Is Here To Give

(In memory of Freddie Mercury)

A poem by Peter S. Quinn

The day is never the same

Thru each morning and going

Love today in its new flame

Inside your heart and flowing

Let this day flow

Thru its moment’s go

All is here to give

Be and thru time live

Moments lost in space

In their many ways

Some may return again

Others gone with the rain

Our life is like the flowers

In their way and the sun

Few moments in day’s hours

Before their times are done

In the secrets of love’s go

In all its tomorrow’s come

Some we never do know

Where its passion is from

Contigo he gritado, corrido, saltado, jugado. Contigo he besado, he abrazado y he sentido cosas que jamas podría sentir por otra persona que no fueras tu... Contigo he pasado buenos y malos momentos, ¿Como no?.

Don't stop me now [Queen]

Recently, I've developed this really terrible habit called "nocturnalism," meaning I head to sleep around 4am or so. It's wildly unhealthy (or so I hear), so don't try it at home, kids.

While it's probably a bad thing that I'm up so late (thanks college), it's been nice for one thing: I'm super focused and energized. So all of my homework gets done, which leaves LOTS of time for me to blast music and play with photos. As I was editing this photo, you better believe I had Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now" on a loop.

The lyrics ended up having such an effect on me that I just HAD to name the photo after a Queen song. I think it fits, what about you?

Thanks for your views, comments, and favorites!

Comments always appreciated, as long as you keep it clean - I love to hear your feedback! xx

Saturday was our last full day in Newcastle, and we had lots planned. Meeting Michelle and Rachel (of Trans Radio UK fame), then off the see the Ladyboys of Bangkok, and then a night out. What a brilliant time we had!

IN Rusty's after the Ladyboys show, and they played 'our' (mine and Gemma's) song - Don't Stop Me Now by Queen.

Taivas had a free run for the first time in ages. She did enjoy herself.

Song title: Don't stop me now ~ Queen

I tried to clear a lot of storm debris and rotted plants in our garden this morning but yes, you guessed, it came to rain again. This is one single droplet of it. In fact the clear-up is a gargantuan task for anyone, with the lawns totally sodden and the flower borders exceptionally heavy to turn over. I can manage the light work myself but given that my OH is facing another few months of only being able to do light work, we're on the lookout for a gardener to do a 'one off' job regarding the heavy stuff so that we ourselves will find it easier to manage.

Taken at The Gnoll Country Park and Estate, Neath today. Can't figure why I've got white streaks in this whilst in some other shots on different exposures it doesn't show up.

My standby shot for today because we'd hoped to get out for an hour but our plans were thwarted. We had to make do with a stroll around the block by which time it was too dark and rainy for anything.

The Pixar Play Parade at Disney's California Adventure. April 17th 2009

Today was the day of cycling up a very silly road that went very high. We started from around 800m or so, headed up the valley, finally reached the start of the Großglockner road and started climbing. I glanced smugly at the cyclists carrying nothing who had driven to the start of the road. Nearly everyone was grinding along in their lowest gear, myself included, so we weren't going that much slower than a lot of the other cyclists. Although there was more stopping.

But anyway, it was beautiful, and there were lots of hairpin bends, and people waving or looking at me like I was a crazy person. This photo was taken at the highest point on the main road, at 2504m. Afterwards, there was a knuckle gripping descent down the other side, until we finally reached a campsite at 1000m.

Location: Großglockner High Pass, Austria

Distance cycled: 68km

Trip total: 8083km

My son and partner bought me a starburst filter for Christmas. I haven't had a chance to do any night photography since then so I used it on our Christmas tree this morning before later dismantling it and putting it away. Another shot in comments.

We had to go on an errand to North Gower this morning so whilst there took a look around the little church of St Illtyd at Llanrhidian. Dotted around the graveyard were several chickens and two guinea fowl from a nearby breeder. When we got closer they flew up onto this fence. (The Church can be seen in comments below)

I braved the cold wind today and ventured out the garden to see if any bulbs had survived the wet weather. To my surprise I found a solitary snowdrop. I titled it 'hope' because according to folklore, snowdrops are a symbol of hope.

Contrary to what this looks like ;-) it's a glass of Pomegranate and Elderflower Presse. Too wild and windy to take the camera outside once again today so I took this when we went for a very late breakfast at Cafe Twocann. This was a special treat to make up for the fact that I'd booked myself and a very special old schoolfriend in for Afternoon Tea but had to cancel because her elderly dad passed away a few days ago.

An 'upload and run' shot because me and mine are off to the theatre this evening.

Spent the afternoon at Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth today and this is a view looking up at The Spinnaker Tower. If I wasn't on holiday I'd upload a few more so just to answer any questions ;) Yes, I went up the Spinnaker, Yes I stood on the glass floor and no I'm not scared of heights. In fact if the MS Society's recent abseil down here would have been at a more convenient date, I would have done this year's fundraiser from here.

Wilko were selling these off yesterday for next to nothing.

First time out today for my OH with his Canon 7D and thrilled that he was able to carry it around OK albeit with the kit lens alone. This is a feature at Clyne Gardens, Swansea - hand held to the extent that I placed it on the Japanese Bridge and stabilised it with my chin resting on it.
