Voronezh is a city and the administrative centre of Voronezh Oblast in southwestern Russia straddling the Voronezh River, located 12 kilometers (7.5 mi) from where it flows into the Don River. The city sits on the Southeastern Railway, which connects western Russia with the Urals and Siberia, the Caucasus and Ukraine, and the M4 highway (Moscow–Voronezh–Rostov-on-Don–Novorossiysk). In recent years the city has experienced rapid population growth, rising in 2021 to 1,057,681, up from 889,680 recorded in the 2010 Census, making it the 14th-most populous city in the country.
From 10 to 17 September 2011, Voronezh celebrated its 425th anniversary. The anniversary of the city was given the status of a federal scale celebration that helped attract large investments from the federal and regional budgets for development.
On December 17, 2012, Voronezh became the fifteenth city in Russia with a population of over one million people.
Today Voronezh is the economic, industrial, cultural, and scientific center of the Central Black Earth Region. As part of the annual tradition in the Russian city of Voronezh, every winter the main city square is thematically drawn around a classic literature. In 2020, the city was decorated using the motifs from Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker. In the year of 2021, the architects drew inspiration from Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale The Snow Queen as well as the animation classic The Snow Queen from the Soviet Union. The fairy tale replica city will feature the houses of Kai and Gerda, the palace of the snow queen, an ice rink, and illumination.

This is a catch up as I had great plans for taking a shot when I was out, but ended up chatting, laughing and drinking instead.
Went out for a friend's birthday tonight and had a couple of these. Great group of people - I knew most of them by sight, but only tend to see them at fit camp or dashing in and out of nursery with assorted children.
Having mentioned to my fitcamp and running buddy at the start of the year that I fancied doing mud runner or a similar muddy obstacle course it now appears to have grown arms and legs. The pay off now seems to be that I'll do a couple of flat 10ks with her before we do a demon run/ mud race. Chatting abut it last night and quite a few others were interested in doing a muddy obstacle race too. Whether we'll all remember this come the morning I don't know...
Sunday, November 29, was our last weekend day in Austin before heading back to Tampa. So we decided to make the most of it by heading to Rainey Street for dinner and drinks. After a few happy hour drinks at Lucille and dinner at Banger's, we decided to try Half Step (75-1/2 Rainey St.). Mike ordered the ''Don't Mind if I Do Julep'' (shown here, alongside the menu); it's made with apple brandy, bourbon, mint, and Demerara sugar. Mike is a big mint julep fan, and he really enjoyed this drink.
Hello old boy, very good of you chaps to drop by my humble photo stream.
Today my Uncle are having an “Upper class Sheep of the Year” competition, so I stocked up on yummy British treats, because I shall win this little game, don’t you know.
While my Uncle is out, dashing around on the cricket field, I’m in here having a little cuppa.
Capital, capital... I think I rather fancy a biscuit... don’t mind if I do :-)
Chop chop.
Just a quick phone shot at the end of the day. Mr H back from Sweden and he obviously did a good job - they want him back out again in another six weeks or so. Will try and get him to arrange the meeting for not Tuesday this time. Or up the duty free order from the current bar of Toblerone
We recieved our first Christmas card and biscuits! Thank you so much to our lovely customers Mr & Mrs Carr, we are so pleased you still love your kitchen! #fridayfeeling #friyay #dontmindifido

August 12, 2005.
I learned how to roast a chicken via a jUlia Child programme on TV when I was about 12. Only way to do it!
Slather in butter, cut it open, stuff with spices (i used fresh rosemary, sage and thyme today) and lemons, and roast at 425 for 15 min. Then turn it down to 350 until done, basting every 15 minutes with butter and pan juices..
(Technically, via the original show I watched, I think you're supposed to just roast it with butter only (no veg or spices) at 425, crisping all sides, including the bottom, and then tie it up with twine and put it on rack in the pan...but I have neither a rack or twine, so it was improvised. But still great!)
So juicy.
