We were lucky enough to grab a copy of The Red Cathedral this weekend! This is a new game where players take on the role of construction teams to build a grand cathedral for Tsar Ivan. This game utilizes a community rondel for players to get resources which they will use to build their sections of the cathedral. There are six different color dice in the rondel and the dice move exactly how many spaces as their pip value. After a dice is moved you obtain resources and roll all the dice in that space ensuring tactical decisions will need to be made. What really makes this game shine is the fact the dice can be upgraded. Each color dice can get a special ability specific to you which activates any time you move that particular dice. These upgrades can be anything from getting extra resources to getting the benefit of another color die when it is moved!

This is a bit of a longer post because I am very impressed with this game. The actions seemed so interesting and strategies needed to be changed depending on the board state. The components were of very high quality and the games take less than an hour and a half. I highly recommend this game and want to hear your thoughts on it!
