Looking at the Klein Furkahorn and the Rhône Glacier . No. 2103.
"The Rhône Glacier (German: Rhonegletscher/ Valais German: "Rottengletscher", French: le glacier du Rhône) is a glacier in the Swiss Alps and the source of the river Rhône and one of the primary contributors to Lake Geneva in the far eastern end of the Swiss canton of Valais. Because the Glacier is located close to the Furka Pass road it is easily accessible.
Der Rhonegletscher (selten auch Rottengletscher genannt) ist ein Talgletscher im Quellgebiet der Rhone im äussersten Nordosten des Kantons Wallis in den Zentralalpen der Schweiz. Er ist knapp acht Kilometer lang, weist eine durchschnittliche Breite von ungefähr zwei Kilometer auf und bedeckt eine Fläche von ungefähr 16 km². Der Rhonegletscher war vor allem im 19. und Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts aufgrund seiner damals noch weit ins Tal bei Gletsch hinunter reichenden Zunge eine grosse Touristenattraktion. Er schmilzt seit der Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts kontinuierlich. Möglicherweise wird er bis ins Jahr 2100 beinahe vollständig verschwunden sein.
Le glacier du Rhône (Rhonegletscher ou Rottengletscher en allemand) se trouve à l'extrémité nord-est du canton du Valais en Suisse. Il donne naissance au Rhône, en amont de Gletsch, qui s'écoule ensuite dans la vallée de Conches.
Le glacier s'étend sur 8 kilomètres et atteint une largeur d'un peu plus de 1 000 mètres. Sa superficie est de 17 km2. Comme la plupart des glaciers alpins, il a passablement reculé depuis le milieu du xixe siècle. Il est facilement accessible via la route du col de la Furka. Une galerie creusée dans la glace permet de visiter l'intérieur du glacier."

Ricordo dell'ultima ciaspolata di quest' inverno, una bella giornata
Il 1° febbraio 1945, 77 anni fa ( così poco tempo ! Sembra impossibile ) , l'Italia riconosce il voto alle donne.
La lotta per la conquista di questo diritto era partita tra la fine dell' 800 e i primi del '900.
Già nel 1922 un deputato socialista, E. Modigliani, aveva presentato una proposta di legge per il diritto del voto femminile.
Nelle elezioni amministrative tra il marzo e l' aprile 1946 l'affluenza femminile superò l' 89% e vennero elette nei Consigli comunali circa 2.000 candidate.
Una particolarità : non si poteva entrare nei seggi col rossetto, pena l'annullamento del voto ( allora, per chiudere le schede e incollarle, bisognava umettarle con le labbra....)

Marcello Scarselli is a well-known Tuscan painter and sculptor who lives in Bientina, near Lajatico in the Pisa province.
Lajatico is the birthplace of the famous Tenor Andrea Bocelli, who holds his annual event in Lajatico at the Teatro di Silenzio. This has transformed Lajatico into a mecca for artists who exhibit artwork around the town, attracting many visitors and improving the local economy.

La coupole originale de Marcel Jambon, à laquelle le peintre argentin Casimiro Mella a collaboré, a été abîmée par des infiltrations d'humidité après une danse de carnaval dans les années 1930 et repeinte en 1966 par Raul Soldi
À 28 mètres de hauteur, la salle est couronnée par la coupole de 318 m² réalisée en 1966 par le peintre argentin Raúl Soldi.(Le lustre mesure 7m de diamètre) Les personnages représentés sur l'œuvre illustrent aussi bien le ballet que les danses antiques d'Ottorino Respighi, qui a donné une représentation dans la salle le jour de l'inauguration de la nouvelle peinture de la coupole, le 25 mai 1966.

At a height of 28 metres, the hall is crowned by the 318 square metre dome created in 1966 by the Argentinian painter Raúl Soldi (the chandelier measures 7 metres in diameter). The figures depicted in the work illustrate both the ballet and the ancient dances of Ottorino Respighi, who gave a performance in the hall on the day of the inauguration of the new painting of the dome, on 25 May 1966.

Le temple d’Héra d’ Agrigente s’élève dans la vallée des temples. C’est l’un de ceux qu’on aperçoit de loin, en arrivant sur zone. L’un de ceux qui donne tout de suite une émotion. En effet, toutes chargées d’histoire, ses colonnes encore debout parlent immédiatement au visiteur d’un très lointain passé.
On le nomme aussi Temple de Junon, comme le nom du parking d’ailleurs, mais il est préférable de lui garder son origine grecque. Il faut donc le nommer Temple d’Héra.
Le Temple d’Héra d’ Agrigente se dresse sur un petit promontoire à l’extrémité Sud-Est de la vallée, près de la porte III, parking Tempio di Giunone.
Le Temple d’Héra de la vallée des temples à Agrigente est un temple très grand, daté du Ve siècle av. J.-C. En effet, il comportait à l’origine 34 colonnes sur son péristyle et 3 pièces intérieures. Mais il subit à peu près le même sort que les autres temples : Entre autres, il fut incendié par les carthaginois en 406 av. J.-C. et reconstruit par les romains au Ie siècle av. J.-C. Il est l’objet de profondes attentions, depuis le XVIIIe siècle, mais entre temps, n’a cessé de se dégrader.

The Temple of Hera in the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento is a very large temple, dated to the 5th century BC. Indeed, it originally had 34 columns on its peristyle and 3 interior rooms. But it suffered roughly the same fate as the other temples: Among others, it was burnt down by the Carthaginians in 406 BC. AD and rebuilt by the Romans in the 1st century BC. It has been the subject of deep attention since the 18th century, but has meanwhile continued to deteriorate.

Ses parents, Axel et May Vervoordt, ont également donné une touche personnelle à cette belle histoire. Ensemble, ils ont pris en chargel’aménagement de l’espace. May a sélectionné des matériaux naturels et des couleurs chaudes, évoquant la terre, tandis qu’Axel a dessiné les tables et les bancs. Il a également dénicher toute une série de dessins dont ceux de l’artiste japonais Sadaharu Horio qui donnent une ambiance artistique toute particulière.
‘K’ is exactly what Dick Vervoordt had in mind when he wanted to provide the Kanaal site with a new trendy restaurant.
His parents, Axel and May Vervoordt, also gave a personal touch to this beautiful story. Together, they took charge of the layout of the space. May selected natural materials and warm colors, evoking the earth, while Axel designed the tables and benches. He also unearthed a whole series of drawings, including those of the Japanese artist Sadaharu Horio, which gave a very special artistic atmosphere.
Anche questa volta mi sono svegliata di colpo e quindi ricordo l'ultima parte del sogno :
un vecchio, grasso signore criticava le donne che si portano i figli sul posto di lavoro. L'allusione era alla 'Giorgia nazionale', persona che a me non piace per niente, ma che in questo non posso criticare ( a parte che paghiamo noi i voli di stato e il lusso per i suoi familiari ).
'Ma allora - lo interrompevo nel sogno quasi gridando - alle donne è preclusa ogni carriera politica ?
Io mio figlio piccolissimo me lo portavo con il passeggino alle riunioni e non dava nessun fastidio. E quando era più grande stava in un' altra stanza a fare i compiti. Non avevo nessuno che me lo tenesse...!'

Last night, as I was about to lower the blind in my "office", I saw a movement under the Murraya hedge outside. I went to check and discovered this young bird, busy scratching the leaf litter on the ground (hence the name I gave him). It was already too dark for a picture and, this morning, I went again to check if the chick was still there and he was, scratching his way happily under the Murraya hedge, where he probably feels safe. Hier soir, alors que je m'appretais a descendre le store dans mon "bureau", j'ai detecte un mouvement sous la haie de Buis de Chine en face de la fenetre. Je suis sortie pour verifier et j'ai decouvert ce jeune oiseau qui grattait joyeusement la couche de feuilles mortes tapissant le sol (d'ou le nom que je lui ai donne :) ) Il faisait deja trop sombre pour prendre une photo et, ce matin, je suis allee voir s'il etait toujours la et je l'ai trouve, gratouillant gaiement le sol sous la haie, ou il doit se sentir en securite. Ma presence ne l'a pas effraye et je l'ai laisse a ses importantes occupations :)
Le Talégalle de Latham (Alectura lathami), est une espèce d'oiseaux communs de la famille des Megapodiidae, qui couvent leurs œufs dans des monticules de végétaux plus ou moins en décomposition et dont ils règlent la hauteur pour maintenir la température constante.
