60066 passes through Doncaster working a Rails service from Scunthorpe on 2nd June 2016. The day saw numerous disruptions through the station as a result of the wires being brought down by 91110.
They may be the most common sight on local ponds but the Mallard, whether the brightly coloured male or the less conspicuous female are most attractive birds. Here a female is seen at Doncaster Lakeside in an early morning photograph taken a week or so ago. We had set off to visit the nearby Pottereic Carr nature reserve but not twigged that it wouldn't be open at 08.00 in the morning. A short detour allowed for a rather pleasing amble around this relatively recent development.

Colas duff 47727 'Rebecca' sits in Doncaster awaiting the road with 6C52 2250 Doncaster Up Decoy to Crofton west Jn on 25th January 2015. These normally depart via the up side, but the train needed turning so ended up coming through the centre roads. The added bonus was that it meant the 47 was leading.
55004 'Queens Own Highlander' heads a line up of seven withdrawn Deltics, followed by 55022/16/05/17/13/11 and 31264.
THE 'Deltic' website, well worth a look!
Another through the window shot. 47703 at Doncaster. Built at the Brush Falcon works 24th March 1964 numbered D1960 and under TOPS 47504. Spent some time on the Wensleydale Railway and it shows. You can just make out the Fragonset livery.

Another Merrymaker Trip from south Wales found me at Doncaster on 4 January 1975, this is 55022 'Royal Scots Grey' racing through the station with an 'up' express.
This location is one that I have not visited for photographic purposes for over 30-years, I know much has changed if this view were to be recreated, apart from the obvious electrification, withdrawal of Deltics and other proper trains, the car park (seen above 55022) has been demolished, so perhaps it is time to visit again! What happy days they were, it is only 46-years ago.
Overtaking 40050 with a northbound hopper train, (thought to be East Anglian grain for the Scottish whiskey industry) is 47520 about to make the station call with the 13.00 KX - Edinburgh.

47843 + 47812 pass over the Sheffield ladder in Doncaster Station with 4D31 1612 Drax to Donny Decoy on 6th April 2015. First time I have managed a pair of blue duffs on the gypsum, so I thought it was worth a wander down from the office.
Here's one that goes back to last summer. I'm not sure whether the main subject is 67007 which is seen running into the sidings or my mountain bike. Doncaster station is 13.0 miles from home so any bike trip that incorporates a visit is a worthwhile ride.
Note to self, I must get out there again on the bike.
55004 'Queen's Own Highlander' draws to a stand at Platform 1 with the 08.50 Edinburgh - KX.
3 young spotters probably want to cab it!
