My attempt to follow patterns again. Had to cinch the waist to make it fit a My Scene body type properly. I'm pretty sure I messed up reading the pattern somewhere along the way.

Some changes I made from the pattern: 1) used a non-stretch fabric, 2) opted to have the top as a tube, as opposed to a halter.

This photo is from the furniture-making tutorial that I wrote, which offered instructions and a pattern for this Chinoiserie cabinet. Featured in the April 2011 issue of Doll Customizer Magazine.

This is an Obitsu doll that I customized into a cyborg. Many alterations were made to her, and I even installed LED lights in her eye and leg, so a power adapter can be plugged into her, and she lights up! You can see her tutorial in the June 2011 issue of Doll Customizer Magazine.

Most parts fit fine, except for the back part. This part held by the pin shows how much extra fabric I ended up having at the back. :S

And here's Gloom Beach Cleo's Incredibly Mild Customization - all done ! Well, at least for now, I really didn't do that much...

Her hair still had bends and shapes from the ponytail/hairspray prison, so I gave her a quick dip in some boiling water. No perm this time, just wanted to even out the odd bumpit shapes. Went well, but her bangs stood straight up like a gold and black rooster's comb ! Held them down to dry with a couple clear elastics salvaged from doll packaging, which worked.

But before her hot-water dip, I pulled out nearly all the tinsel. Unlike 'Dance' Cleo, GBC has solid black hair, all one color. So I decided to leave in a single gold streak in the back, and leave her bangs as issued. Gives her hair a bit of shimmer, I think !

Also removed her 'diamond bindi' / snowflake decoration from her right cheek, swapped her hands around with the other Cleos of Chez Insanity, and sewed her up a skirt. Hrmf. May have to give up straight skirts - if the waistband is snug, it often pulls at the hips.

Still need to even up her bangs a bit, and I'll probably paint her 'pyramid brick wall' issue shoes, but I really like my 'new' Cleo - even the green lipstick is starting to grow on me !

It's always a lot of fun to see what people come up with for the Doll Customization Contests. The categories were Full Custom, Modified (rewigged, rechipped, redressed), Costume, and Mini.

Here we have my most recently completed face up on a Volks DDH-07 head in semi white.

The client asked for realistic brows and eyelashes, as well as double lashes. I've never done double applied eyelashes before, but I think it's a nice effect! The inner layer is purple with a white one over them.

This girl has had her pink removed and silver to replace it. I've changed her lips to a darker dusty rose, and her eyes are slowly but surely being painted silver (right now they are just kind of gray) She will be getting a beauty mark, and a couple articles of clothing.

She's still a vampire, but I felt that she really didn't need to advertise, lol.
