Dogwood Fall leaves slowly deteriorate as we approach the end of Fall in North Carolina.

This photo was made less than a week ago when the leaves on the dogwood in my yard were not yet at peak color. Today, most of those leaves are gone. Why do so many wonderful, magical things last such a short time?

Dogwood trees are finally in bloom. These blooms show the exquisite detail and beauty that nature provides. Pink dogwoods are my favorites.

Thank you very much for the kind comments and faves, much appreciated!🙋‍♀️

The small flower clusters are surrounded by four, showy, petal-like bracts that turn white as they expand. [...]. True flowers are greenish yellow. Total width of each floral display ranges from 3 to 5 inches across.

May fashions days it will unveil;

and there exists one which I hail.

For me, it stands out from the rest-

for proof May came- it is the best.

Outside my window, grows a tree

that blooms each year- now fifty-three.

When dogwood blossoms open wide-

May bares her beauty- amplified.

I named it the Dogwood cabin because the dogwood trees framed it beautifully. A terrific early American split-rail fence covered with lichen. One of the cabins in Cades Cove/Smoky Mtn NP.

Happy Fence Friday -- and have a great weekend too!

And lots of little green flowers, at the intersection of the bracts. On a dogwood tree in Towson, Maryland.

Thank you for looking! Isn't God a great artist?

We have three dogwood trees in our yard. The first to emerge is the white flowers, and they're fully opened now. The next is this red-flowered dogwood. The leaves are still fresh and yellow. The last has yet to emerge.

Dogwood Blossom my tree has stopped blooming so I found one I liked in my archives, a classic example.

Spring is here and I'm isolated; however, we have a few beautiful dogwood trees in our Courtyard and I clipped a bloom and took a shoot of it just for you.

From the same dogwood tree as the previous upload
